Guest John & Lorna
Hi, we have made the decision to move, got our visa and think we have decided on Perth. We have 2 daughters 1 aged 13 & 1 just turned 15. They are worried about moving. We visited Victoria (Melbourne area) in May and they were not too keen. They need somewhere a bit more modern. I am after ideas as to how I can convince them this is a good idea. I would be really grateful for and info or pictures that might tempt them. Obviously as they are teenage girls, pictures etc of beautiful beaches, shopping showing how beautiful it is would be great. Oh and probably nice looking boys !! One is interested in horses and the other in dance and sport. Thanks for you help Lorna
ali
Perth is very laid back compared to melbourne so I've been told. My daughter is 13 (says she doesn't like boys!!!!), she was 11 when we moved. She loves it here in Perth and has said (in between the shoulder shrugs and grunts) that she's glad we came here. Its very difficult for them to leave their friends ... but they do find ways of keeping in touch. Ali x

I don't know if you can "sell" them the idea though. We took the line that this is what we are doing and the primary reason we are doing it is for you. All you can ask is that they keep an open mind and a positive attitude, because some times its hard getting started again. To my mind the people who struggle are the ones who give up too quickly. ali
Hi Lorna, I live in Leeming which is about 10 mins by train to the city, and 20 mins drive to Freo. The next suburb to Murdoch Uni. It's an older more established aread, so not everyones cup of tea if they're wanting new builds. Schools in the area have good reputations and there's state and private. My two go to state schools, my daughter is in an academic extension programme at high school. Ali
Guest John & Lorna
Hi My eldest daughter competes in disco freestyle here and they do not do that style in OZ I think she will start ballet and hip hop. I think there are ballroom classes about but not sure where. Will let you know if I find anything out Lorna
