Guest Tony & Liz Elliott
We have booked our flights to Perth for 19th September, so our departure to the land of opporunity is imminent! However, we have decided not to ship our stuff over and as such feel that we will only be going over with the suitcases in our hands. We are flying with Emirates, does anyone if you are allowed additional baggage allowance if you state you are emigrating (at no extra cost?) Thanks Liz

ali
Depends what visa you're on. If you're on a PR visa and have not previously validated then yes you are. Some airlines don't offer the extra baggage allowance with temporary visas... just to be sure contact the airline. Singapore airlines, told us that no bag could weigh more than 32 kg ... which meant about 6 cases for us. Ali
