Georgiajoemillie
[h=2]Perth rentals[/h] hi, not looking to move to Perth until early 2013 but I'm researching suburbs etc. On rental sites some properties are advertised as open house and some just advertised. Not beIng dum but does every house have an open day or can you go to an real estate agent and look around in your own time and make an offer if you like the property . Thank you Ian
verystormy
It depends a lot on the suburb. In popular areas it is usually just an open day, particularly in Perth itself. Outside of Perth you can usually get them to show you around
phil
When looking for somewhere to rent the impression we got from most agents was that we were a nuisance in wanting to actually arrange to see a property. Don't expect them to do anything to help you give them your money. If they've got more than one property of the type you're looking for on their books, they'll not tell you, you have to keep finding them. Viewings are very specific, generally a few minutes during the working week and when it's convenient for the agent. I didn't find one that was prepared to schedule a viewing individually or at a time when I wasn't working. It may be different further out of the city. Essentially, set your expectations well below the service you'd expect from a UK letting agent. Otherwise you'll be disappointed.
liloharry
We couldn't arrange a separate viewing either, some will have home open dates/times listed and those that don't you leave your details with the agent and they will text you when the home open is, we ended up with a private landlord, i'm so glad I only ended up going to two home opens & didn't have to deal with agents. Druid
Perth rentals hi, not looking to move to Perth until early 2013 but I'm researching suburbs etc. On rental sites some properties are advertised as open house and some just advertised. Not beIng dum but does every house have an open day or can you go to an real estate agent and look around in your own time and make an offer if you like the property . Thank you Ian Dream on, look at your leisure and decide,, I wish, we went through this process with half a dozen agents, its scary and degrading, bear in mind you are dealing with a 19YO receptionist, you cant get passed the receptionist and they are generally cows to be polite. You see what looks like a nice property advertised on REIWA or similar, you decide to go for a drive by to check out the suburb house etc, you then decide to go for it, you call the agent and ask to speak to the name as listed on the advert, who by the way is the 'property manager', the receptionist asks you what it is about, you tell her you are interested in the house advertised, she takes your name and number and tells you they will text you the viewing day and time, no private appointments possible unless it a mansion renting out at thousands a month, you then sit back and wait, and wait, and wait, a week later you get a text telling you date and time, you show up, you cant be late because the viewing is a 20 minute window and believe me they dont hang around, then you and 100 others have 20 minutes to see the house and talk to the agent, who by the way is not the property manager, you take an application form, fill it in send it in by the closing date, and sit and wait, and wait, god help you if you call the receptionist to ask progress, normally they are down right rude bark at you and hang up, eventually you get the yes or no, if its yes, you have to go and tolerate the receptionist again while you fill in a load of forms at the reception, once this is done then you get to meet the property manager. Oh yes, then you get the receptionist that 'forget' to text you, then deny that you ever called to arrange a viewing, the first you know of it is when the advert on REIWA changes to 'LET', but you havent had the viewing yet, you didnt even get a chance to apply. The whole process is horrorible, real estate agent in Perth need a reality check, I cant wait until the shoe is on the other foot and I decide to buy, I am going to be a pig to the estate agent, payback is going to be sweet.
