Guest guest1337
Hi, we've been here about 16 months now, and honestly we've seen 1 redback, that was living under our BBQ!!! & although I hate to kill spiders it had to be sprayed! Cockroaches are far more common, but completely harmless to us, they meka a lovely crunching sound when you tread on them!!!!! LOL Have seen a Brown snake at Joondalup lake and had a close encounter with a stingray at Trigg beach! Hope this helps!!!??? But I know what you mean, they are massive and look pretty scary!!!

Guest Bob Tonnor
Keep your huntsmen, they are your best friend when it comes to cockroaches and most spiders, huntsmen love em, we have never had problems with cockroaches when we have a few huntsmen about, they rarely bite, only if really provoked. When it comes to redbacks theres no worries there either, really placid and beautiful little things in their own way, and they keep down the mozzies, wasps kill more people in the UK each year than have been killed by redbacks in the whole of european settlement, now just be thankful you dont live east and have to put up funnelwebs each spring. Malcs66
If you look they are there. When we were in our rental which had been vacant for awhile i saw 6 in four days, all outside though. You would have to be very unlucky to get bitten by one. In my job i've put my hand on a couple accidently and haven't been bitten.......yet! Only seen one Hunstman, although a friend of mine did get bitten by one the other day. No snakes as yet.
Joan
Hi Lee, We have been here 5 years never seen a snake , only one huntsman and yes a few red backs outside , a couple of cockroaches outside, its really not that bad. I personally dont think you get any more bugs in your house here than we did in Scotland Joan:redface:
