Guest Zara Nofal
So, I have been in Perth for 13 months now and am currently on a sub class 417 visa. (holiday working visa) I am wanting to stay for a a third year with the intentions of getting Permanent Residency but am stuck as to where to go and what to do now...anybody have any guidance or information on this matter???? Please?? I know that some people have used a migration agent to help with these matters but they seem to be really expensive and I cannot really afford it. Julianandsarah
The easiest way is to get a job where an employer wants to sponsor you. If you can't get a 457 visa through an employer, they might be able to get you to stay using the Agreements Stream of the new 187 visa (http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-187/). Guest Zara Nofal
Ah thank you so much Julian and Sarah. (I'm guessing that's your names lol.) Unfortunately I don't have a 'skilled' qualification so I think that sponsorship is out of the question??!! Also, I just checked out your link and that too is saying that I need a skilled profession as well. Hmmm.... Thank you for your reply though oh and p.s. I'm just down the road from you if you ever fancy a coffee??!!
DyLeB
What are you currently doing in Perth? Where are you working? Do you have a Australian Partner. If you do not have a skills and qualifications for an employer to sponsor - you have very limited options. Which would only be a Student Visa - which are very expensive, can only work 20 hrs per week and no guarantee that you will ever get PR.
