Has anyone been granted a visa after cancer?

Hi, last May aged 36 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, to cut a long story short, I opted to have a double mastectomy and recon, Ive been genetically tested and have been told there are no flaws, no family history etc. All my treatment (chemo) was finished over a year ago and we have just lodged our visa application for perm residency. Has anyone been granted a visa after breast cancer or know of anyone? Ive just been to London to see a Professor who does a lot of work for Cancer Research and after undergoing a medical with him, he was very positive and he is going to do me a medical report to go with us to the family Medical which then gets sent over to the MOC to decide if they see me as a financial risk. We have wanted this for years and one thing or another has stopped us, now we feel we are at the perfect time, and had it not been for last year, we tick all the boxes for requirements etc we would know that the visa app was just a paper process, however I am scared that I will spoil our dreams. I can not find anyone who has been granted a visa so soon, but then Im struggling to find anyone who has applied so soon to compare. Thanks in advance

I know people have succeeded getting a visa after cancer treatment but don't know how long they'd had the all clear before applying/granting. For anything condition with the medicals you will need to provide as much information as possible from the treating Dr's/specialist. We were told that what that information should include is: The problem/illness, what investigations/treatment you have had and what the prognosis is and if you will require any further treatment. They're really interested in how much you might cost them over the next 5 years.

Your medicals will be referred, (if you have anything in your medical history), but if you have specialist reports, it will likely be ok. Only of treatment over the next 5 years will cost more than $100,000 there is an issue.

When you get them done - there is currently a big back log of referred medicals so dont worry if it takes time for your medicals to be finalised.
