Guest Dani Paul
Hi everyone, I'm writing this on behalf of my husband. Can anyone tell me what the chances are of my husband gaining sponsorship from a company in the oil and gas field? He has 25 years experience and is very skilled. We are looking to move to Perth and I can get a independent skilled visa as I'm an English teacher but if we can get sponsorship to help with removal costs and guaranteed employmnet for him it would be a great help. I'm also concerned about my job prospects. Any advice would be appreciated.
DyLeB
You could still do both. IF your OH is offered a sponsorship it would likely be for 457 TR visa. After we got our PR my OH was offered a job in Oil and Gas (engineer), they were going to provide, all the shipping allowance, relocation agent and the rest of the stuff that went with it. They were really happy that we had our own visas and wanted him to start in 1-3 months which was to fast for us. But you can still get this even if you have your own visas. Or get sponsorship and get PR at same time, so you are not reliant on OH job to keep you in Australia. 457 visa gives you 28 days to find a new sponsor or leave Australia if you lose or leave your job.
