Hi all, In 9 wks time I'm going over to Adelaide to do a reccie. When I booked my flight, Adelaide seemed to be full of work (trade work) but I have asked people who live there, and they say they are struggling. So I'm coming over to Perth aswell. I have never travelled without my family so very nervous. Anyway, going to be looking at suburbs, schools, sports, crime, cost, ect. As a family, 4yr old and a 6yr old, we love the outdoor life, not intrested in city life, only for work. I am a bricklayer by trade, and my wife is a TA so not high rollers but do ok. we have income from renting houses too. We like sailing, camping, rugby, walking, so looking for a nice family friendly suburb without the city price tag. Any recommendations, local Knowledge, would be very helpful. Thanks lee.

Mandurah is nice. Very water based and there is a sail club which is very cheap to join and provide boats and instruction.

It is very much a beach life and property a lot cheaper than Perth while still only being 50 minutes from Perth CBD.

Do be aware that house construction has been struggling in WA now for a while
