Guest ohlala
hi we arent going over til next yr but have been looking at primary schools and kindy for our (nearly 7) and 3 yr olds, we will be based in the rockingham area and need to pick our permenant house BEFORE we fly out, so looking at schools/catchment areas is proving hard, cant seem to find a website that has a catchment list, has anybody that has been in the same situation got any advice too offer? ideally it would be good to have a look around some schools before we enroll them but if we are in a place that has one school in the catchment area we may be a little stuck? hope all that makes sense lol just worried as both of mine girls are at a school/nursery that they love and worried about moving them anyway...thanks for reading my rant lol xxx
Scot01
This web site will help you. http://www.myschool.edu.au/ Type in the suburb - Rokingham and it will come up with every school in the area. Go the the page for each school and there's lots of graphs at the bottom. Look for Results in Numbers. It has the results of the NAPLAN tests, bit like the UK SATS. If it is green then the kids at the school are working above the national average, dark green is significantly above which is what you want. White mean OK and red means they are below the national average - not so good. Individual schools may have cathment areas on their web sites but if you live within the cathcmnt area then they should offer you a place.
