Russ and claire :)
Hello, haven't posted here for awhile. I am thinking of training to be a midwife once we get to Perth and the kids are settled but if I can't train as a midwife I would like to train as a doula, is there a demand for them in Perth? Thank you

To the op, I don't know the answer to your question, as you can see, I had no idea what one was? Hopefully someone can answer your query? portlaunay
My wife was going to train to be one before we left the UK. Since we arrived here she's researched and it would seem there is very little in terms of demand.

Russ and claire :)
Lol a doula helps a mother in labour, she helps as an advocate, can help with hypnobirthing, relaxation etc... Some mums if they have had a bad birth experience have a doula as support for her birth choices, also due to midwifery shortages some mums don't feel support. lozzachino
I know what a doula is! I looked into having one in the UK purely becuase the standard of care i received was so bad. Good luck if you decide to do it x
