  1. Thanks mossman. I would really appreciate that if its possible. We were on the east coast before we came to perth in November and theres still alot of new projects popping up but obviously i dont no what it was like 2/3 yrs ago.
  2. Hi Springfield. Its no problem. Really easy to get work as a brickie. Plenty of it here. They do tend to prefer WA experience so if you dont have it they seem to start of on a lower wage - my fella started on $32 p/h and then obv it can go up. Hes self employed. Hours depend on the job. He was working on the new childrens hospital and had 12hour days / 6 days a week. Before that he was on apartment blocks and now hes on houses - both 8 hour days with 1 sat off a month. Dont have to work sats if he doesnt want. When are u coming over? Thanks fifi i will get onto fb and have a look. Hopefully we get something sorted. Not ready to go home.
  3. Have checked other state lists and but unfortunately they aren't possible for him for different reasons. Yes there definitely seems to be a shortage. No problem getting work. Just hard to find a company to hire on TFN for sponsorship and even harder for employer nomination on ABN. My partners even willing to pay it himself. Just have to cross our fingers and hope it all works out. If anyone knows any brickies out there that might be able to give him some guidance it would be much appreciated. Cheers
  4. Hey, my partner (a brickie) and I are currently in Perth on a WHV which is sadly coming to an end. He had been told all along by his employer he would get sponsored but now the employer has had a change of heart Bricklayer is no longer on the SOL list and I dont think he will be able to find someone to sponser him. Anyone any advice on what we could do? Any brickies been through something similiar or found another way to stay? Or even if anyone knows of a brickie that might be willing to help out? Thanks D
