Hi, sorry for the strange question, but I would like to understand more about the order of the selection process. We have just lodged our EOI for a family sponsored 489 visa with a points score of 75. Looking back on previous selection rounds it seams like there is on average around 100 places available for 489 visas. If the chart shows that say 5 people with 80 points were selected along with say 25 with 75 points, 50 with 70 points and the remainder with 65 points, does that mean that everyone with more than 65 points would have been selected? In other words would I be selected with 75 points before someone that had been on the Skillselect waiting list for a considerable length of time but with fewer points. Are their other factors at play? Sorry, was just trying to work out my chances of receiving an invite. Many thanks Steve

Hi, we are currently in the process of obtaining a 489 Provisional Family Sponsored Visa. Could anyone please explain how (or even if) Medicare is available to 489 visa holders? I hear that a UK/Australia reciprocal health agreement contributed towards Medicare cover. Would we require full private healthcare in addition to any Medicare benefits? Estimating an average healthcare plan for a family of 4 costing approx $300 per month.

Hi. We are currently in the process of obtaining an Australian visa. Applying for a 489 Family Sponsored Visa. We understand that their is a new charge for 2015 in WA for school fees of $4000 per year for temporary 457 holders. Is this also true for 489 (Provisional) visa holders? I cannot seem to find a definitive answer anywhere. Any help would b appreciated.
