  1. Thanks for the feedback, I have emailed GoMatilda but unfortunately they have too much work to take me on. I have made contact with another agent who come highly recommended and will access my options for £300 initially which will give us an idea if it’s an option and if so what these are. ideally I want permanent migration but looking at the amount approved it’s a no go for the time being so best option is to start the process and how this changes. if it is meant to be it will happen but first need to see the options and weigh it all up. thanks for your help
  2. Thank you for the information it’s very helpful. It’s has become apparent that the process needs looked at by someone far more in the know than me. I contacted a newlifedownunder.com.au but unfortunately they are too busy so have contacted goMatilda anyone know if they are any good. Camila kindly informed me that she would support if my wife got a sponser so need to look into this option. I looked at the years ago and thought that It was near impossible to get sponsored? thanks again for the information.
  3. Good day, my wife and myself have been looking at moving to Perth for sometime but have decided to bite the bullet and go for it if possible. We are looking for some advice if anyone can assist I very much appreciate it. so my wife is a mental health nurse specialist in CBT (therapist) and has 13 years experience in her field. I am a lead auditor in aviation holding a ISO9001:2015 qualification and basically worked myself up the ladder in my 14 years in the industry. we currently have one child but are expecting another in September. I just done the points calculator on the Australia government website and it comes in at 85 to 90 points. The difference in points comes as my wife is 31 but depending on the time line she might fall into the 33-40 age dropping the points by 5 if that is the case. what are the chances of a visa acceptance based on the above information? The other question I have is if anyone has done this move what costs will we incur? We also have 2 dogs which we would take with us if the visa process is accepted. final question but perhaps key to all of this what is the stance with COVID-19 are all visas delayed for the time being? Appolgies for all the questions I have done done research but would love the opinions of people who have already made the leap and get an insight into the issues and some advice. Best wishes Steven
  4. Wow that is very interesting this would allow us to save the money required but get the process moving. I am guessing it is harder to obtain work out of the country but still a chance to build some income. What would happen if you had an addition to the family as my wife wants to start a baby soon:arghh:. Is it easier to start a family once we have made the move or have our family in the UK and relocate? My question really is how hard is it to add to the visa? I have just had a quote from an migration expert through an online chat scary stuff. Is it a hard process to complete yourself? Thanks Stormy I really appreciate your help.
  5. Hi Druid, thanks for your reply. I asked the question to the Airline and they stated that sponsorship was becoming rare due to the government clamping down however it might be an option. I worked my way through the ranks at my current company starting in Document Control 10 years ago and been put through MSG-3 training and the likes on planning courses and reliability courses with the OEM. My issues is I am not licenced or hold a degree so unsure on the criteria. In regards to the planning role I am actually a Maintenance Programme and Reliability engineer by trade but also work within planning I just thought for the non engineering people within the forum it was easier to explain. I would rather not mention the operator. What do you feel is the best way forward from your experience? Steven
  6. Thanks so much to you both for the feedback. My wife is degree qualified I am just curious if I apply for the permanent migration now and all goes well and it is granted do you have to travel straight away. The reason I ask is we might sit in the UK for a while and try and obtain work whilst in the UK. I have a few potential options in the pipeline through but don't want to sit in Oz waiting on the chance if I can keep my job in the UK and build on saving for the eventual move. I am guessing you are expected to make the move within a certain period of the visa being granted?
  7. Hi Verystormy, Thank you for your reply. This is my weakness as I am unsure if sponsorship is an option for myself. My role is within aviation planning and looking at the skill list which is hard to break down the job appears on the SOL list however I have been trained internally with the exception of a few courses my employer has put me through. Would I need the likes of a degree or certain accredited qualifications? The operator I have been speaking too have informed me that they have sponsored in the past but never mentioned in which roles. onto my wife she has the correct criteria to be offered the visa in question. she just needs to sit the above skills assessment etc... Once she completes the above my guess is she can start applying for roles on her visa being granted. The issue is for myself is if the sponsorship is not an option due to my lack of accredited courses then of course they will have to offer this role to someone else due to the time of my wife's visa being accepted. I am of the understanding that I can apply for roles on the back of her visa within my industry but as indicated that could be best case 9 months from today if we got the ball rolling. is it fair to say that most people apply for the relocation without securing work on the hope that when they relocate is all falls into place? sorry for the lack of knowledge we are attending a moving down under seminar in 2 weeks to get a better understanding. Cheers Steven
  8. Hello all, It looks like I might have the option of work in Perth but currently no visa in place. I have asked the company if the option of sponsorship is available however this is rare due to the government clamping down but they will consider it on a rare occasion. My wife is a mental health nurse so she is my ticket into Oz however the time taken to seek approval. I am classed as unskilled in terms of qualifications but have a lot of experience in the role in which I do. I am worried that this job option may be filled by someone else due to the time to get the permanent migration visa in place. Does anyone know how long this process will take if I start the ball rolling straight away. my big concern is I spend the money on the visa and the offer on the table is withdrawn due to the time of visa acceptance. I really want to move but if this opportunity was to be withdrawn I am thousands of £'s out of pocket with no work on offer. What is the likelihood of my wife obtaining work as mental health nurse if this offer was withdrawn. I cant find much on the mental health sector in Perth but looks like general nurses are finding it hard to come by work at the minute. on the plus side my parents are in Perth so we can live with them until we find the work if the worst comes to the worst but with not a great deal of saving and what we do have will be absorbed by the relocation costs. any advice is greatly appreciated.
  9. Thanks for your reply we did think this would be the case. Just wanted to make sure to avoid delaying the process of application.
  10. Good evening, My wife and I are looking at completing a skilled visa as she looks to work as a nurse in Perth. Her passport runs out in May and currently has her maiden name we only got married in November. How does that work in terms of applying? we have a holiday in July so are unable to apply for the new passport until we are back. will this delay us submitting our application? we want to get the process going as we have been informed the application takes 6-9 months for a decision is this correct? thank you in advance Steven
  11. Hi thank you for the welcome and response. My wife does have mental health degree We are looking at the application process as we speak and will apply within the coming weeks. Do you know how you go about sitting the English exam etc or does that flow as part of the application for the visa? Ok this was my concern I am hoping perhaps if I can't get into aviation I can find a role in another field. thanks again Steven
  12. Good evening or early morning in WA. I have a few questions that I am unable to find relevant recent information online and would love to chat with expats who have made the hard decision to relocate to Perth. We are little scared of the unknown mainly on my side my wife is a mental health nurse and I work in aviation as reliability engineer. It appears my wife can pick up work without too much hassle but not sure if this is the same for myself. Anyone on here have any idea of the best way to locate aviation work? I worked for a short time for bristow helicopters detached from Aberdeen however due to the downturn I have been told they have nothing at this time. I am open to changing industy despite 10 years experience as gaining a job is my priority and I can't be fussy. What's it like finding work just now? My guess with mining being hit as well and oil and gas it might not be easy. My my parents currenly live in Sorrrento but new to Australia so not much use and my dad got sent by his work so all expenses paid jammy sod! My my wife would be applying for a skilled visa and I am guessing I would be able to join her based on her Skilled visa? Does anyone know how long a visa takes for a decision? Also how would you know if you have a good chance of acceptance? The reason I ask if this is a long process we would have to spend a lot to get everything in order. Sorry for all the questions but I do appreciate any help that you can provide. ? Steven
