  2. Hi all can any of you give me an idea of who to use to pack and ship a 20ft Container over to Queensland from Perth. i have a Quote for over $6500 but would like some more to see. It's time to leave the Money hungry for a more relaxed Lifestyle. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks Catinahat1975
  3. CAn anybody help me out here. I have a176WA SS visa which means i should stay in WA for 2 years. I have now read that on the 190 visa which is the new one that you could leave WA and work in another state and nowbody would ask. Has anyone done this? If so how?Would you Job need to be on a list? We are finding things are costing far too much here and you can only live Hand to mouth on a non mining wage. We do not all earn $100,000+ per year and i'm starting to feel things could be better in another state.Perth is a great City so don't get me wrong it's just i had hoped for more to life here than working 60hours weeks to Support my Family. Any help here would be great.
  4. So we arrived here in Feb 2013 and have done all the normal paper work( ie. Medicare, centrelink doc`s,bank, job, school oh and found a house to rent). Did i forget some thing as i was just talking to some friends and they have said that they signed in to WA. I had just throught that as i have done all of the above it would be known where i am and what we are doing. What other things have i missed out? If anyone can help me here it would be great Thanks George
  5. Hi We are a English German couple(mid 30's) with two kids 4 and 5 who have been here now for since january. We would love to meet up with others out there. I am a Landscaper working all over Perth but we are looking for meet ups for weekends or for kids to play. Before comming out here we were in Germany for the last 7 years and before ew Zealand. If you fancy a coffee or to meet at a playground PM George
  6. Hi We are a German/ English family with 2 young children moving to the Parkwood area in mid March. After looking for the last 4 weeks for a house we have now got one here in Parkwood. Are there any of you living in or around this are who might want to meet up or give us some advice?
  7. Hi there thanks for the info we are looking at a house inNewton St. Looks like around it is good and we will be next to a school which is slso good. Will just have to see if we can get it!!!!!! To rent here is so hard or the houses are shocking for the money.
  8. Hi all and thanks for the help. We have a 176 and i have my job so it was more it we needed to show anyone in Oz. As things are to save 280$ after all we spent over the last 2 years to get here would be nice. It was more that we had a problem when we left but was fine when we arrived at Perth airport.
  9. Hi we are looking at a house around the Spearwood area as i need to be closer to Perth area for my work. The area looks good are there any of you living in or around this area?
  10. Hi we arrived 2 weeks ago and now want to add the visa sticker in our passports. Can you just walk into the office in Perth and get this done? i have tried to call and been kept on hold 3 times for a total of 1hour so this is why i am looking for your help.
  11. thanks for the replys so far. We have been there once and willl take another drive there today to look around. i understand that it's got some rough areas but that seems to be the same all over unless you can move to the rich areas. We are looking only to spend 350 to 400 on a 3+1 house so are options are limited. Around the rockingham area or north of Perth the market is so tight. Armadale is closer to the CBD than these areas too. I don't need to be in a english area but would be good to feel safe or relaxed in our house. I have seen that this area is moving up and has changed alot over the years. I see that if we stay away from the train station area then maybe we will be ok!!!!!
  12. Hi so with all the stress of looking for a house in and around the Rockingham/Safety bay area we are now looking inland to the Armadale area. This is a joke now what people will do to get a house here(rockingham) One paper the prices are alot better and the houses look better too. I have a job that means i will have to drive to different work sites NOR and SOR so being in the near of perth is good too. What are your views of this area and please not just peolpe who want to tell only the bad?
  13. hi all we arrived here a few days ago and have already seen how hard it will be to rent somewhere. Whats best to do to help us out here. We are looking all over but would like a 3 bed house. Our problem is i do not have a job as yet but enough money to fund our living for a year. could i use my aunt as a ref? I feel that as we have never owened a house or have lots of money like the rest of you we have no chance. Is there any one out there that started out like us too?
  14. It's so good to see that all is not grey and full of depressed Poms who just want to go back to the UK(Pomsinoz). We too will be arriving in January 2013 and had Bunbury or Mandurah on our list as i have seen that around Perth is well over priced and i remember from my travels that there is moire to WA than Perth. We are a Family of 4 (Me (English) Wife (German) Clara 5 and Aaron 3)looking for a new life away from Germany. If any of you out there can give us advice on good spots to live or where the bad ones are that would be great. I will also be looking for work as a Landscaper Gardener so any info there would also be great. Rentals seem to be alot less around these places too :-) What could we be looking at getting for around $350 pw?
  15. Hi all, I know this might sound like a funny question but i'll ask it anyway. How common are walkin wardrobes in Oz rentals? We have 2 big wardrobes and are not sure if to take them with us and then just have them taking up space. Thanks George
