  1. Hi all been a while But sad to say I have bad news. Everything was going to plan but I received a email from the migration company stating they have tried to get me and my partner a visa for 6 months with no joy and the case is closed ??? So it begins In January I contacted global migrate regarding visa's.my partner is on the skills list under 457 she is a insurance broker. A guy called Ish took our call and was very helpful and advised us we would need to make 4 x payments of £600 over the next 3 months with a full refund being issued if no visa was granted . Great we thought. So I contacted global migrate Wednesday this week . It took 9 phone calls and 6 emails In the end I got through to the manager Raj Who informed me I won't be getting my money back and he no longer wished to talk to me only my partner . So I get my partner to call , and using my phone we record the call His attitude ,language and abuse was awful. Shouting and getting angry saying if we contacted our credit card company he will cut all contact and if we leave bad reviews he will also cut contact .he called my partner a c+++ and hung up . So with this it seems there are many reviews on Global migrate saying the same thing Just some advise please avoid them like a great white. They are asian scammers who have just cost me £2400 Bubble popped
  2. Thanks for the link , iron lady imports. They can do the job start to finish for £5800 this includes everything
  3. Hi. I would buy another car once we arrive to use daily. The Audi is not for sale as I've said previous it's priceless to me . Furniture etc , I'd be happy to sell most of it in the UK, we don't have a great deal anyway. Except kids toys etc Nicola gave birth to my 2nd son Jan 31st so now they are both OK we can push on
  4. What a mine field Ali I can store it here at a family members aircraft hanger for as long as I need too . Just seems like new things pop up daily to get the car on the road .so once in Port it then takes 1 month for ADR, checks etc Car arrives at Port, goes into quarantine and fails I then apply for a temporary move permit 29.05 dollars Take it to Welshpool for them to inspect it again 97 dollars If it fails again I can then take the car home , change of fix the problem . Book another move permit 29.05 dollars take it back to Welshpool Passes They then licence the car and away we go ?
  5. My Audi in Australia is between 40-53000 dollars, so I minus the 20% as you say ( I think most RS4's in OZ are imports ) so on the basis my car is worth 400000 minus 20% = 32,000 dollars so this means it won't be at the higher tax bracket? So from failing this ADR to sticker in my hand takes how long? Fussy old lot ain't they . The car is exactly the same as the models out there already , reads mph/kph right hand drive As I've mentioned previously it's not about value . It's priceless to me .
  6. Thanks jase I'm using angelo Pacific. But im best to find out if it's OK for me to bring it over on a 457 visa. Do I go on the government website or email them etc? My main thing is timing , I need a address to prove I live there etc so it's a case of 1) finding a rental property around a month before I leave ? 2) ship the car off on its way once I have the address ? 3) have someone in Perth whoa willing to help me ? The part I'm confused with is passes ? Certain paperwork to be able to collect the car , also the car has to have paper work with it and I have to have proof I own it. Insurance - how do I go about insuring the car if I don't know what licence plate the car will be on? Also who arranges the plate? I've seen a plate RS4 B7 on the private plate Web site in OZ wa for 540 dollars. Also what is Welshpool ? Do I collect the car and drive it straight there ,assuming this is like the Oz version of a mot ? Once done can I take the car home the same day ? As for costs , a container with just my car with angelo Pacific is £1600 so I've worked it out to be around £4600 that's including shipping, cleaning 10% car value for tax and a few hidden fees. Thanks Dave
  7. Thanks for you nice input ! If my car is A1 condition when it leaves the UK and gets damaged and all messed up then I'll have something to say about it .
  8. Hi jase Great information there for me to think over .I have heard of the horrors bringing a UK car to Oz. My car as I've mentioned has a value to me . It's spotless, not driven in the rain or winter etc .I also do car detailing in my spare time so as you can amagine it's more like something that sits on the mantle piece lol But as you have said they will steam clean it and make it worse just to make a few quid . I have the receipt from when I got the car also all of its history . It's for £13800.I'm even going as far as replacing all the brakes + suspension before I take it (peace of mind ) there is also a Audi dealer in Perth which is handy for parts ,being a 4.2 v8 RS4 in the UK the running costs are shocking 200 miles to £80 so don't really enjoy it as much as I should ! Hopefully this will change . I've set aside avg £ 6000 to move the car and also told the shipping company in London that I won't be leaving untill it's strapped inside the container with damp proof bags inside and it's cover on , I'd also want to be there when it's unloadEd but not sure if they allow this? The UK spec RS4 is the same as the ones in OZ , so quarantine keep the car for around 2 weeks is this correct? Also how do I go about licence plate change ? Is this all completed before I collect it ? Obviously has to be taxed and insured also? Sorry to blaber on but this is near the top off my list of importance . Angelo Pacific are the people I've had the quote off Dave
  9. Hi Ali We chose perth due to knowing a few people that way and the bonus (kind of) was house prices to rent are very reasonable . Obviously there is many nice parts in Australia but i wanted to focus on one area as this make it a little easier to try and budget for the adventure , nicola's company also has a office in Perth but not willing to transfer so this is obviously her first port of call seeing as she's knows how they operate etc . My eyes are totally wide open and I've looked at everything with the added possibility we may have to return to the UK in a few years .I hope this isn't the case as a clean slate is needed and I'd like a better future for my boys .
  10. Right so you are all against the 457 !! What do you suggest?
  11. Verystormy , please don't take offence .I've taken the above on board and made aware that it is a gamble . My partner is a insurance broker and we have been advised the only way over would be on a 457 , as we wouldn't be able to get a 489? I'm happy to hear the good and the bad and will take both on board , the company in using received all the paperwork today to forward onto there agent in Australia, as I've said all I can do is wait and try and if at the end of the 2 years we are sent back then it's another chance I've Took in life . If you have any more advice then great
  12. Totally understand and agree . But verystormy isn't being to clear just little inputs of negativity without reason .
  13. Hi Ali , I was looking for advice in general ,after all the research I've done online just to confirm I have it correct I have a fair idea on costs now and we'll aware there is a risk.butvas said above many people make it and live a better life which is exactly what I'm after . If someone wants to be negative then so be it but tell the story and input something rather than just adding bits of negativity
  14. You have pm Yes I make you right ,I've owned my car 26 months so all good
  15. Ok, I'm on here for advice but so far all you have done is put a negative spin on everything I've said and not really given any advise , moving 9000 miles isn't easy and Im well aware not everyone is succesfull If you had a bad time then s I mentioned above please explain.
  16. Hi my car is around 50,000 in Australia so well worth me taking it . More for myself not value Mine is a 4.2 v8 lol The agency have informed me if I'm not successful I receive a full refund ,I also have this in writing I run my own business so I will always have something to do if I have to return which is handy
  17. They seem fine , doing exactly what there being asked to do ! You seem like you had a very bad time
  18. http://global-migrate.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQiAtqHEBRCNrdC6rYq9_oYBEiQAejvRl_Vfi76Kg7Ree2OKyCj1IaB9q-ibR4KjZMHLb03Ns7gaAroB8P8HAQ Link attached! Let me know
  19. We wouldntvbe living in Perth, we are looking on the outskirts as I don't want to be paying 600 a week . I would like a more simple lifestyle not stressed one . Around 250-300 a week would suit Us for the first few years then see where we are at Dave
  20. Hi our visa will be a 457
  21. What are the main areas to avoid ? If any .
  22. Thats why I'm here to speak to people who have had good experiences and bad . There is 2 skills lists and my partners skill is on the list where you can't apply for PR straight away . I am here to listen, if someone has has a bad experience then I'd like to hear about it ? What went wrong and why . And just to add , there is 2 skills lists and my partner is on the 2nd skills list where you need sponsorship I'm using the agency to try and make it as straight forward as possible , not a easy Route but honest Route . All in doing is trying Verystormy what happened to you?
  23. Hi , I don't have Rose tinted glasses on at all . I'm here to gather as much information as possible as it's not just me making the jump it's also my 2 children . My partner is more than happy to work after having the baby .if we was planning to stay in the UK she would be going back to work also . Crime is everywhere , I've not said that mandurah is crime free and a happy go lucky place . All I can really go by is Internet research . House prices , cost of living . I'm also not in the mind set that this is easy or 90% of people would be doing it for the weather alone . As I've quoted above IF we are successful in making it we wouldntvbe treating it as a holiday but the start of a new life . I'm well aware that some people fail and have to return to the UK , many people fail in the UK .it's life . I would have around £120,000 set aside for this adventure so ive more than made sure if times get a little tough I'm covered to a degree . I've seen many properties for 250/300 dollars per week which is reasonable. Also my partner travels from near Southend to London everyday which is 1.35 mins each way door to door . I'm not ranting but the Rose tinnted glass are far from my face
  24. Oh dear, what happened ?? From reading A LOT from what I can make out is Houses are cheaper in the mandurah area ? House are cheaper in general than the UK? If you go out drinking a few nights a week, smoke or want to dine a lot its dearer ? Cars are very expensive to buy.? But cheaper to run ? Where as in the UK your house is a weight around your ankle with the average house down south (Essex) being over £300,000 with shocking 35 year deals . Mines £892 per month and when my little boy is born any day now in 6 months my childcare will be £800 . This to me is crazy and leads to a hard relationship, to much pressure and no life. If I'm wrong on any off the above please feel free to put me right ? I'm trying to also budget what gas /electric /water bills are in Australia, silly I know but better to add to the budget insted of ignoring it . In the UK I pay £124 per month gas/elec and £700 a year water 3 bedroom bungalow
