Hi, moving to the Fremantle area soon - not sure exactly where until we get there as I will be working at Fremantle Hospital and my friend will be working in Charles Gardner in Perth. Anyone any suggestions for a nice area. Would like to be near beach or liveliness of Freo I think. Also we were considering either stopping in a hotel until we found a rental (bit worried about expense) or getting a short term holiday let. Should we arrange holiday let from England before we go. Any advice appriciated

Hi Janaya. We are also moving to Perth in January. I will be working at the Royal Perth. I think most people tend to get a holiday let sorted from England for at least a few weeks. I think it can take a few weeks to sort a permanent long term let. It depends on your circumstances really, if you dont have kids it could be more cost effective to stay in a hotel? Short term lets tend to cost more, I think at least $400 a week for an apartment going up to $600 for a house. For us (family of four) we will need a house straight away.

As for areas I don't know much about areas close to the city like Freo other than that they will be more expensive, but if you are single you will have more disposable income than me! We have looked at family suburbs around Joondalup.

Good Luck Fiona x:Rofl:
