Guest ged1967
Sorry if this has been asked before. Does anyone have a check list of what we should ensure our shipping company includes in the price for shipping? Is there anything that they can't/won't charge for? We will not be taking a car. We clicked on a request a quote from an airport based excess baggage company. We went thru a checklist room by room ticking off what we would need shipped. The charge was around £2,500-£3,000 which seems much cheaper than I had thought it would of been. Thanks for your help.
Nic964
I moved last year, and relied on the shipping company to tell me whats required. I got them to come to the house and do an inventory themselves, the real cost is how much space the items take up, which they needed to see to be sure. Also some delicate items they crated up for me (TV, toolbox etc) which cost, but they werent happy to ship otherwise. I shipped 3/4 of a 40 ft container for around 5000 pounds, including cases etc (no car) so you are not too far out. Most of the costs are the labour to pack / unpack everything not the transport itself. So suggestion is to get someone out to quote. They gave me a list at the end of everything they would pack, and the volume it took, and they were good to their word. Nick
