  1. Haha. You can def be too pregnant. I'm at that stage with only 3 weeks to go. The sooner baby makes an appearance he better ) hoping to get things going with our visit/move once baby arrives.
  2. Thanks everyone for all the advice. It's so difficult trying to decide as we do not know where we will be working at the minute. Hoping to get everything organised once the baby is here, only 3 weeks to go ). I will have a look at all the suggested areas. Thanks Cxx
  3. @miamai that's awful the nmc are def not quick in doing anything apart from taking our yearly fees. I hope you get everything sorted soon. All this bad chat is putting me off. X
  4. Hey guys, Joined the site today, at the very beginning of researching Perth and job opportunities out there. I have been through the free assessment and know that I will be granted a PR visa, I'm a registered nurse. I am still looking at everything needed to apply for my AHPRA, which seems to be worse than the visa application. Pregnant at the minute so wanted to wait until possibly January time before starting the paperwork side of things. We have never been to Australia, but love the idea of the potential better life that it can provide for our family. WA is so massive that we are struggling to find the perfect place to settle, so hoping to plan a trip out there to see as much as possible for ourselves. Any ideas of areas to look at would be much appreciated. Looking for areas that are family friendly, lots to do, near local amenities, great schools etc. Any advice you guys can offer would be great. Thanks Cx
  5. That's great thank Carol. I'm sure you'll hear from me again, hehe. Cxx
  6. Hi Rob, it does not have to be nurses that I chat to about places we should consider visiting. I have researched on areas on the internet, however what we read and what we see when we get there are completely different. Thought it best to visit before we decide on the best place for our family. I have already posted on the nurses thread that I found about the local hosps etc. Thanks for a quick reply, Cx
  7. Thanks CarolD, You would think they would make the process alot easier and not a long winded if they are that desperate for nurses. I do not understand it, I thought the NMC were bad. I do not think that their website is great at all, seems to take you around in circles. I'll drop them an email instead, thanks for your advice. I think I'll get my registration sorted before applying for my visa, think i'd have palpitations being out there with no job. Hope you get your reg sorted soon.
  8. Hi guys, looking for some help. Myself and my husband are the beginning stages of researching Perth, however there is so much info out there that we feel we had best go on holiday first to see everywhere first hand before making a final decision. Can anyone suggests places to visit whilst on holiday and also an area to stay, we are looking to emigrate to an area near local hospital, I am a nurse, has good schools and is basically a great area to bring up children. Near shops and local amenities but not the city. Somewhere that has a great sense of community. Not asking much am I. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. :smile2:
  9. Hi guys, I am not looking to start my visa application until next January, but was wondering whether I should start my AHPRA application just now? Seems to take a while to get everything finalised? I do not find their website very clear, how long do I have between my registration being finalised and having to go over? Any help and advice is much appreciated. Cx
