  6. A quick question for all you fantastic experts.......... when applying for my husbands partner visa, do we include our 4 children who are Australian citizens with Australian passports??? Do I need a valid Australian passport before I can be his sponser or will my birth certificate be enough. cant wait to hear, we want to submit by the end of may so doing paperwork over the next week or so
  7. We are well and truly underway towards our move next year. When we previously discussed this with my mum (who is my rock) and a fantastic support to us as a family as a whole, she would not talk about it, hated it being mentioned. When our plans fell apart she was sooooo happy, a year on and she is pushing us to go, talks about it all the time, and is giving loads off advise from her experience (moving too and from Aus with us kids). I love her to bits and saying goodbye will kill me, but so happy to now have her full support. She has even mentioned today her plans to come and visit once we are settled...... yayyyyyyyyy:biggrin:
  8. Are there any of you intending/arrivals to Perth that have had medicals recently. We live in Dorset and was wondering where the closest centre approved by the Australia Embassy was. Just hope we don't have to go to Manchester or somewhere up the other end of the country. thanks in advance
  9. Ha ha, that really made me laugh, we did have a balti last night, but as I cooked it, it was defo not dodgy......
  10. Our landlord is putting a new kitchen into our house tomorrow, great way to force us to have a clear out, all been packed (to keep) packed to sell, online or car boot, I am always amazed how much stuff we accumulate but don't need!!!! getting us in good practise for the move.
  11. My husband is in the same trade also, we will be door knocking, he also has 15 years of experience so fingers crossed, but then we are both happy to do anything, and if it means I start work first then so be it. good luck and please keep us updated x
  12. I think that's the thing, when we look around, we are currently selling all we don't need, and have not used for years, and don't want ie tents, sheds etc etc, that leaves us with stuff that to be honest all needs replacing, we will hopefully be staying with family for some time on arrival, and happy to have second hand from those expats who are returning home, or gumtree etc etc, its a tough decision that's for sure, and I am sure that if we had expensive furniture here we would bring it. but not sure its worth the cost for the stuff we have?????? the toughest decision so far
  13. Are you looking to just send boxes? that is an option for us, not sure on cost of this tho???? would love to know if you have investigated prices etc into this,
  14. Well under way with our plans now..... the dreaded question again..... do we ship don't we ship............ looking around and looking at all our items - will it be any good in 18 months??? is it worth shipping please can you helpful aussies give us a list of shops we can buy from (may not ship) we have coles, kmart, big w, furniture bazaar .... any more please
  15. We are coming next year and will have around the same amount, we will have shipped everything from the uk, and luckily have family to stay with on arrival, we budget hard in the uk (even harder at the moment) so we are just thinking it will be the same, and make sure we have a blow out holiday once we have settled and secure employment... (and by blow out) I mean spend just over the normal budget lol
