Hi all, We just arrived at the end of november after a long drawn out battle with immigration and are just about to move into a rental in currambine. The kids are too late to start school before the summer holidays and my husband starts work on Monday. I am keen for them and me to meet new friends asap to help us to settle. The kids are all boys ages 8, 5 & 11 months but will play with anyone, they just need some company around their own age. Im not sure about the nomination timescale as it had already been approved pre July when we were about to submit a 119 visa application but a mess up with immigration forced us to change our subclass and subsequently delayed things by about three months. Sorry I cant help there.

Thanks, I hope thats not the case or I could be waiting some time. Im trying to find out if any applications are going through on the new online system, its apparently meant to be quicker!! Fingers crossed.

Hi all, As there is very limited information for this visa type after the 1st July, I thought I would add the thread to allow people to share there stories on timescales etc. I submitted my application decision ready via an agent on 7th September 2012, I have had an acknowledgement letter on the 18th September. We are now just awaiting a case officer!!! Desperate to know how long it will take to be granted. Any news on timescales post july 2012 would help ease the worry.

My acknowledgement letter came today saying they were dealing with my application and that the next step is to be appointed a case officer. My application was submitted on the 7th September 2012. Will keep you all updated.

I am a diesel mechanic to trade.

I think ours was submitted with the nomination in place. It was originally submitted as a 119 before 1st July deadline but immigration messed up so we had to resubmit afterwards under 187!!! I will keep you all posted on timelines etc. as there doesnt appear to be much information on this.

Hi, Yes it was for the Perth office, we are off shore. Applied for a RSMS 187 visa last Friday DRC. Agent also gives the government party line of 5-7 months because they are regulated by them so cant deviate from that. However my Recruitment agent suggests that it could be quicker (4-5 weeks) not sure how true that is but im clinging to it for dear life as we have sold our house and have to move out in 4 weeks. Pooping ourselves!!
