Scotty
I have looked at the skilled occupation list but I am struggling to distinguish between the different schedules. Can anyone help? I am a mechanical engineer Fingers crossed it schedule 1. I asse that is the best but not sure what difference this means? DyLeB
Mechanical engineer is on SOL. If your occupation is only on the CSOL you need state nomination 190/489 or employer sponsorship 186 to be eligible for a visa, but if your occupation is also on the SOL you can apply also for skilled independent 189 visa or 489 family sponsorship. DyLeB
If you are speaking about the WA state occupation list Mechanical engineer is on schedule 2 and I believe it now requires job offer to get sponsorship.

Thanks for the reply dyleb. It would be a 189 independent visa that I would be applying for.
