Rosshf
Hi We are hoping to get to Perth later this year. We're probably going NOR (Ocean Reef, Kinross, Joondalup ish). There are many considerations when deciding to buy or to build a home, however, the question I am most interested in at the moment is: Generally speaking, if I build, will it be worth more than I spent building it (taking into account all the hidden fees etc) when it is complete? Thanks Ross
moirclan
i know of a couple of people who have built in burns beach their houses are now worth what it cost them to build , so they are at evens at the moment , if your looking to build in oceanreef there isnt a lot of land so unless a house gets knocked down and the land split to a smaller block your proberly looking in the region of late $600,000 to $ 800,000 for the land , if its split into a smaller block and you can find one proberly in the region of $ 400,00 to $500,000, what you have to watch for also in beach side suburbs is limestone when they are digging the pad out if you hit that your site costs can go !@#$%^. they are doing some large discounts on land at alkimos to get them moving you can look at these reductions on the satterly web site

I've had a look at Alkimos, but looks like there won't be any amenities nearby for quite a while, puts me off a bit. Anyone else got experience of building? Cheers Ross
bensdad
I work for a house builder but we do ready built houses which work out good value. However when we buy I'm buying a ready built older house merely due to plot size. We want a larger plot.
