Guest Ellimac
Hi My family and I are thinking about emigrating to Perth and I am wondering if someone would be able to answer some questions... in the UK I have to take prescription pain killers and will probably be on the for the rest of my life, what is the deal with prescription medicines that you need? Will I be able to still get my medication over there? Do they have prescription /medication free or do you have to pay for it? Thanks to anyone who can help..... Guest guest1337
You will have to pay for it, there are some drugs that can be obtained for free but it's a small list so don't expect pain killers to be on it!
Mad Cow
Have to agree! If they are strong pain killers then you will have to pay. There are cheaper pharmacies around though! It's worth googling to look at the price comparisons.
Guest Living the dream
There is a thing called the PBS charge. This is a prescription charge. If the medication is on the PBS then currently you would pay $36.10 for the prescription. If the medication is over the PBS charge then some Health Insurance Companies will refund the difference between the PBS charge and the actual charge. (up to the limit on your policy) Very confusing I know ! It wasnt untill i started working for a Health Insurance Company did I actually start to understand things
