Hi I lodged my 143 on April 1 2014 is it possible to travel to Australia on a holiday/tourist visa and stay there until the visa is processed. When the holiday visa runs out can I get a bridging visa. My 11 year old son is due to start year 7 in February 2015 and it would be good if we were able to be in perth by then. The 143 visa looks to be taking 18 to 24 months which means we wouldn't be there till at least October 2015.Any help or advice gladly appreciated

Hi how does the acknowledgement come. we lodged on 1 april and haven't had acknowledgment yet. does it come by email or in the post. Its four months since our lodgement date.

Hi Paul and Linda we lodged our 143 on 1 April this year. Have been told it will take 12to18 months to get visa. We are in process of selling our house so we can go into rented accom to wait till visa is approved. We have two daughters in Perth and 3 grandchildren as well as a 10yr old at home with us. We are hoping to work when we get there. We are in our fifties.
