  1. Have you gone down there and stood at the counter and asked them what the problem is ? If not, why not try it. Refuse to leave until they tell you what the delay is and what else they need. Good luck
  2. Not wishing to be troublesome, but.... Not one of you has got the name of the organisation right. It is AHPRA not APHRA. Perhaps they've got a point !! Degree only !! My wife has had no end of trouble with her application, with their complete inflexibility regarding supplying documents that are no longer available, degree transcripts etc. They require more strictly regulated certification of documents than the government do for a visa to live and work in Australia, which seems a little perverse, but there you go ! Go APHRA (sic)
  3. More good news and hopefully gives hope for those still waiting for the grant of a 309/100 visa. Yesterday, we were told that the visa would be through in a week..... Well, today, the visa was granted, we have the bit of paper, with no restrictions, multiple, indefinite entry in our sticky little mits !! 72 days, start to finish, shed loads of money (we estimate £3000 for everything) and a lot of anxious nervous waiting ! Once again, good luck everyone still waiting. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 309/100 visa submitted 16/7/13 = PCC submitted 3/8/13 = MED/Form 80 submitted 4/9/13 = visa granted 26/9/2013
  4. Us too.. We heard today from the CO that my OH's 309/100 will be issued within a week. We only applied on 16th July ! All happened at full tilt. The initial estimate was 12-18 months as we are in the Middle-east. Saw that it's usually 5-9 months in the UK, so we came up trumps with no extra paperwork or evidence required. When we handed the application in, the VFS Global lady did say she had never seen so much evidence. Perhaps that's the key ! Spend an extra 3 days getting everything together, give them as much as you can and you may save yourself 3 months ! Good luck all, thanks for answering any questions I had !
  5. Well, very good news !! just spoke to the CO in Dubai. They received the medical report yesterday (12 days after it should have been there !!) All is well with the application and it is now in for finalisation. 99% sure to be granted within 7 working days ! I have to say, we are very very pleasantly surprised, as initial indications were 12 - 18 months from the Dubai consulate. Start to (probable) finish in 10 weeks.... Bingo ! New employer will be very happy, I'm sure Thanks to everyone for their answers to the initial question and good luck with your own applications. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 309/100 visa submitted 16/7/13 = PCC submitted 3/8/13 = MED/Form 80 submitted 4/9/13 = CO indicates 7 days = definitely before Xmas :santadance:
  6. G'day all, I just wondered if any of the experts on here know if there is a correlation between when the medical and form 80 are asked for and submitted, to when the 309/100 visa is issued. There have been no other requests from our case officer apart from the med & F 80. It is a married spouse visa, low risk country (UK) I am Oz citizen, wife is British and has been recruited for Fiona Stanley hospital. We submitted original application on July16th, PCC documents 3rd August, they requested medical and F 80 on 20th August, we submitted both of those 5th September through the ehealth and courier respectively. Is this moving fast or is this progress normal ? New employer is wanting to know roughly when the visa is likely to be granted !! Thanks very much in advance. 309/100 visa submitted 16/7/13 = PCC submitted 3/8/13 = MED/Form 80 submitted 4/9/13 Hopefully before Xmas :santadance:
  7. We have had a reply to our application confirming acknowledgement that the visa application has been received. It also goes on to say that there may be information to provide and attached is a form 80. It is written giving a name of a person at the consulate in Dubai. Can I assume that this is the case officer or have other people received an email specifically saying "hello, I am your case officer and this is what you should do next !" We have already sent PCC's to the consulate, but not medical for my wife. We are applying for 309/100 visa as me being the sponsoring Oz citizen. Thanks guys. P.S. Raymund, I think the PCC's need to be originals sent to your CO, not emailed or copies.
  8. No experience of it, but........... change your mortgage provider. It has nothing to do with them about how long you rent your house out for, it's your house !! I would seriously look at changing provider to someone who will give you a buy to let mortgage, bearing in mind that it is likely that the BoE base rate will stay at 0.5% for the next 3 years after Mark Carneys press conference the other day.
  9. We submitted our 309/100 partner visa in Dubai on the 16/7. Not heard anything yet about CO. Does anyone know what the allocation times are like for partner visas ? I see there is an allocation table for skilled migration but can't find anything about for partner visas. PCC already sent, but not health checks as we can do them by ehealth from here. Thanks.
  10. Try http://www.qatarairways.com
  11. Have a look at Qatar Airways..... Won best Airline for the second year running, excellent service, good leg room, and if you get the QR008 or QR012 from Heathrow, you have either a 90 minute or 110 minute layover in Doha. Those flights leave LHR at 1.55 and 2.15 pm, land in Doha just before midnight, a short stop then off to Perth and land there at a fantastic 5.20 pm........ perfect !! Miss rush hour by the time you're through, hire cars at the airport, loads of taxis available.... etc etc. Hope this helps. http://www.qatarairways.com/index.html
  12. The tax that you will be liable for is only that amount that you earn as income which, when taken as a sum for the whole tax year, is more than your personal tax allowance for that applicable year. Even then, any expenditure that you have which relates to the house you rent out, including mortgage interest, bills etc etc can be offset against the income. Assuming that you have a personal tax allowance of £7500 next year and you pay £500 mortgage of which £300 is interest then in rough figures you would need to gather rent of almost £1000/month before you were liable for ANY income tax ! Pay some routine bills for upkeep, agents fees, house insurance and you're talking another £200 on top of that !! Fill in a P85 to tell the HMRC that you are leaving the country and then fill in a personal tax return online every year and Bob's yer uncle. Simples !! Hope this helps.
  13. Yes, it will work. The power input in Oz is 220 - 240 V AC, 50 Hz, the same as in the UK/IRL. You will need an adapter to convert the plug from UK 3 pin to Australian pin format, but at 3 Euro, it's not going to break the bank. Everything else stays the same...... HDMI, VGA, SCART inputs etc. Unless you ditch it and buy a 3D TV when you get here. Go on, you know it makes sense...... but probably not a priority !! Good luck
  14. Buy the magazine " Australia & New Zealand " and use the lists at the back of the magazine. Very useful.
  15. Probably worth getting used to not watching, as they are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, yet again ! lol People in glass houses etc etc....... I'm a Toon supporter ! remember the 4-4 last season ?
