  1. Hi Chis I'm not sure about the application side of things but I can give you an update on what's goin on. I've been in Mandurah for 12 months on a 489 visa .All I can tell you is things have changed signicantly in the last twelve months I know the perth area prices are still strong but down here prices have dropped . I am working for a contractor and our rates have been lowered . There is plenty of work but in singleton prices have been halved .i have spoken to supervisors who say this is common when things slow a little they lower the prices so when the situation changes the prices return to the max price. You will be at an advantage being on a 189 because you can base yourself closer to perth where rates are still good. If you need any info regarding bricklaying feel free to ask
  2. We had to wait 5 months from when we got our case officer because they ran out of numbers I think they get the full allocation back in July VS is right things are changing all the time so I would concentrate on getting the golden ticket first . Our reccie cost about £2.7k we stayed on a campsite nothing fancy in the scheme of things not a lot of money if you want to delay your arrival
  3. Hi Phil If it was me I would press on with your application and worry about the dates later .we used Emmigration Group they are based in Chester they were really good. you can always do a reccie to validate your visa we came for 1 week to check out schools places to live etc defiantly worth while. good luck Mike
  4. Hi Dan if internet is very important to you I would suggest checking it out throughly before signing up for a rental etc . The Mbps goes up and down I have never had more than 10 Mbps sometimes it's as low as 2mbps. We get ours through e-wire which most new areas have . fibre optic is about 2 years away . In some areas you can not get internet access
  5. Is there a way of watching the new series from Oz?
  6. if you need any advise (mobile phones etc) just ask!!!!
  7. On day rate it can range between 300 to 400 a day price work ranges from 1.60 per brick up to 2 To have a licence involves going back to school I'm afraid think it's about a 6 mounth course then you have to apply I think some areas issue a certain amount from what I can gather it's not that easy to get one . I woundnt be to bothered about having a licence when you get here there's lots to do before u get to that stage
  8. I know so many different answers suppose I'll have to ask a serious question on immigration issues I've put a post on mandurah poms and got 32 replies can choose between 2 starts mon got 3 people contacting me mon From the sublime to the rediculous
