    pets!

Leaving behind was never an option. After jumping through the hoops to get Rusty out here in 2009 she has settled in well. 4 weeks in Baldivis quarantine wasn't nice but within 2 days of coming out she was her old self. The first time you walk along south beach in Freo and have a coffee and cake at south beach café after, then you will wonder why you ever had doubts. Pic is rusty (middle) and her 2 pups Freo and Jack (They were born here true ozzy's) at south beach in Fremantle Cheers Mick
  2. Hi we fitted an Ikea Kitchen and Laundry last November in readiness to sell our house In Willetton (sold first home open!) We designed it on line, Visited and discussed with the kitchen designer and sorted any problems. Ordered there and then and was delivered 2 days later all 2 tons of it. We installed and there was not one screw or item missing! My family company installed everything and fitted all the led lighting and electrics. I enclose some pics of the kitchen and laundry to give you some idea. Benchtops are cesarstone white in kitchen and doors are all hi gloss white Cheers Mick Lines Bedfordale
  3. Hi I came to oz 5 years ago as a 457 electrician It took me 18 months to get my full licence. My son also an electrician came out 18 months ago, did it in a lot shorter time as I was able to help him. this is the procedure Recognition of prior learning (form to prove you are an electrician ARTC - Australian recognised trade certificate - Oz version or your city and guilds Electrical trade licence course - 2 week course - pass give you application to apply for provisional licence After 12 months you can apply for a full licence after sitting an electrical test All licences are issued through energy safety the governing body You are now a Electrical worker - EW123456 (licence number) -You can be employed as an electrician you cannot work for yourself as an electrician To work for yourself and earn money you must be an electrical contractor Electrical contractor - 2 week course - 1st week law and testing etc = 2nd week business course and business plan etc - pass this - EC123456 (contractor number) you still keep the EW number as this is your electrical licence. The EC is your business licence. http://www.cet.asn.au/home.aspx - is one of the training organisations to get all your info about the above courses there are others (prices in there) the courses run continuously in a cycle to suit demand. Demand was high and was taking 3 months to get a space on the next available course as the ones in between were fully booked. http://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/EnergySafety/ - is the energy safety site. To get on any of the courses you must fill in application forms through energy safety to get permission to go on the course. Its all explained on their site / costs etc Work Work is still about for electricians. You won't get an electricians job until you have the licence in place. Without the provisional licence you cant work as an electrician. With a provisional licence you must be under control and inspection of a licenced electrician. You can work as a trade assistant but you are restricted to what you can do (not a lot) If you have experience in PLC programming and more technical stuff you may fair better. Jobs as an electrician in mining and offshore are impossible unless you have specific skills and more importantly good work history and traceable references. If you have worked on a mine for 10 years somewhere else in the world then you will get a job! Hope this all helps Cheers Mick Lines
