  1. We had a visit back to the UK over Christmas and my husband was so homesick when we came back to Perth so we are leaving feb 6!!
  2. Hi Mike. Lisa at Glas Vegas is really good, it took me a year of really bad haircuts to find her. She's a wee Scott's girl too!! She's in Dolphin Quay.
  3. Hi. We are almost ready to start our move back to the UK and are looking for shipping insurance costs as Allied Pickfords want to charge us 5% of the total value. Has anyone insured independently? we did coming over to Perth but I can't find any of the paperwork!!
  4. Thank you. I'll give them a call. Here's to ponging back at some point!
  5. It's 42 in Perth today, an absolute stinker. It's just too hot to go outside!
  6. Hi.. Can anyone offer advice on the best companies for moving back to the UK? Its looking highly likely that this may be happening for us in the next month or so, very sad
  7. Hi..I am possibly shipping back to the UK quite soon and have a car to sell. We bought it 18 months ago and it's only done 54k. When do you move over? I am in the Mandurah area too! Obviously, depending on what car you think you may be after, mine is a Holden Cruze 4 door, 4 years old.
  8. Hi. I'm just starting to get all paperwork ready to go to the accountant for the tax return and just wondered, are child maintenance payments sent back to the UK tax deductible? Has anyone ever asked the question? I would imagine that they aren't but the thought just occurred to me. Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi.. I use Dental on the Terrace, south Perth.. Run by a lovely couple, Tim and Helen Cain and were actually my dentists in the UK.. Had an appointment yesterday. Helen is lovely and really good if you are of a nervous disposition! Give them a try.. They deal with hbf health insurance if that helps?
  11. We were told by Pickfords to put TBA . The shipping company will contact you when your shipment arrives to confirm.
  12. I am on Telstra wireless and for £30 get almost a month. Not so good if you want to Skype with camera as it uses more of your credit but put $50 on and you get quite a bit more data. If you want to call the UK I use Optus prepaid and for $30 I get 250 minutes to use on 23 countries which covers me for 28 days and I find that sufficient.
  13. I hate they way that when in a cafe or restaurant plates are cleared from the table whilst others are still eating :ssign10:
  14. Hi Andy's wife, how many of you are coming over and would an apartment be a possibility if only for the short term? I live in Mandurah and found that apartments are much easier to come by as the houses are mostly sought after by families. It may not be ideal to start with but there are some pretty decent sized apartments about and you could take a 6 month lease, use as a breather to look for something else. Good luck, I know exactly how Andy will be feeling.
  15. Not being able to get a large glass of wine in a bar:jiggy:
