Perth Childrens Hospital....any news?

Hello All,

I'm looking for some info from Perth locals. I'm currently trying to get a position with the construction company who will be building the new Perth Children’s hospital. Unfortunately thing´s have stalled as they are all waiting for the Client to make a final decision on who the contractor will be. Does anybody local know when that may be?

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated as my family and I are desperate to get over there and start enjoying the wonderful lifestyle we have read so much about.

Hope you find out soon. I guess you've seen it, but when it's announced I imagine it will go up at http://www.newchildrenshospitalproject.health.wa.gov.au/News.aspx

My other half is in the industry, I'll ask her if she's heard anything, but I think chance is slim.

Has anybody got an update on the contractor chosen for the children's hospital? There are all sorts of rumors flying around on this side. First that Multiplex had lost it, then it had gone to John Holland and now the latest is that Multiplex have actually won it!!

 

There is nothing on the official web site but if anybody can help it would be appreciated.

John Holland is a division of Leighton Holdings,part of a it is a Dutch Company Hocschief (something like that) has just been taken over by a Spanish Division, sort of a a league of nations. JH has fingers in lots of other buildings. Brookfield=Multiplex was one that did`nt get the contract, but parts of all these companies, are sub-contractors who it seems all work together.

JH is also doing 5 other major works in other cities. Check them all out on LinkedIN...

I've just checked out the Leighton website and they have made an announcement that John Holland have won it. Shows you should never listen to rumors. I have made a couple of contacts with the UK reps and agents for JH but if anybody has any advice for how they recruit overseas staff that would be really great.

Flippin heck, just got of the phone with hr in Perth................having my medical next week. Could be out there as soon as September if it all goes to plan!!!!!
