Guest Catnoehughes
Does anybody know if it's possible/difficult/a lot of hassle to change jobs on the 457visa? I've been sponsored by my employer to enter Australia on a 457visa, which they organised, on a 2year contract. If I wish to change employers/jobs before the 2years is up, does a new employer have to go through a full application for a visa or can the 457 just be transfered? Just thinking of keeping my options open. Thanks Cat
Guest donki
We have changed employers two times on our 457 .... the first company took the original visa and changed it ( just changed employer details ) If I remeber correctly The second time I know we had a new visa which took around 4/6 weeks to be issued ( as so did the other one ) Which we found crazy as when we originally applied for our 457 is was issued in two days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can carry on working on the one your one as you have to tell the employer to cancel the visa your on. I hope that makes some sense And yes as far as ease is concerned no issues With your new job see if you can talk them into sponsoring you for PR so you have worries in the future :
ali
If you do leave your employer without having secured another sponsor ... you only have 28 days to do so
