Guest Molly
Hi everyone, I just found PerthPoms and it is just what I need! I hope it is ok that I´m from Sweden.... I am married with three girls (4, 7 and 9), and we have our medicals on May 29th, and then I hope my ENS 121 will be granted shortly after that. We hope to move to Perth in the middle of September. The plan is to get a bit settled before the kids start school in the middle of October. Where to live? We have looked at Willetton area, which is close to where I will be working, but I have understood that renting a place is not so easy. Can anyone recommend an estate agent? We do not have renting references since we own our house here in Sweden. To be able to get the girls into schools in the Willetton area we need to be there from the start, I don´t want them to have to change schools after a while. Any ideas what to do or who to contact? My husband and I have talked about Perth for such a long time and we are soooo excited about this big step in life. Thanks for listening Molly
ali
Hi Molly Welcome to Perth Poms, you don't have to be Pom to join in. LJ Hooker are one of the biggest real estate agents for the area (I live in the next suburb), my friend was able to get a rental after owning a house

Guest Molly
Hi Jen, Good luck with your move! Freja, our 9 year old, is very upset about leaving her best friend and does not want to go. Inez, 7 years old, is so excited and upset it takes so long for papers etc. Zoe, 4 years old is playing with her dolls and talking to them about the move. She is excited about starting proper school, here you don´t start until you are 6. So every kid is different! What area do you plan to settle in? sun_seeker_from_scotland
We are looking to places NOR, Steven plans to take the train to work in town so we'd like to stay 20 - 40 mins at the most from town. He is beginning to get a bit nervous about getting a house secured, just hoping and praying that we score it lucky and it doesn't take forever! Do you have an idea of where you plan to settle? I plan to be there the middle of June, can't wait! Always alot of people arranging to meet up on here so we could arrange something when you get over, be great to be able to meet mums at a park or something and not having to be indoors all the time as it's raining, it's been non stop here for weeks! Good luck with all the organising etc, time will soon pass Jen x
Guest Molly
Hi Jen, That would be great to meet outside somewhere and not have a plan B in case it rains!! I will work in Murdoch(SOR) so hopefully we can find a house to rent not too far away. My friend who already lives in Perth says there are up to 30 families interested in every house.... I wish your husband good luck in finding one. We have to stay positive, don´t we? Have we come this far, a little problem in finding a house is something we can manage. We are selling our house here in the next few weeks. Talk to you soon! Molly

Guest Molly
Hi all, How are you? Jen, has your hubby left for Perth? You leave any day now? How do you feel? Has he found a house? fifi69, sorry I have to ask you, what is p n q´s? We did our medicals yesterday. How long does it take for them to grant a visa once they have the results from the medical check? Terrible summer here, 12 degrees and rain, can´t wait to go now.... Have a nice weekend, Molly
sun_seeker_from_scotland
Hi Molly, I'm in Perth! Arrived on Mon evening, hubby been here/at his job now 2 weeks and settling in fine. We are on the house hunt just now, currently renting from a couple who lease out rooms staying in Woodvale (lovely area), only us staying here tho so it's fine, nice being able to have gotten the chance to be head out early and house hunt together, wasn't nice leaving separate killed the excitement a bit! The place is lovely. was out and about driving today to get used to it so feeling more confident and getting to grips sith roads etc, a lot better than driving in and around the Abdn!! I'm loving it actually (just hope house, work and childcare all falls into place ), went to a nice park yesterday and today went to the zoo, was ace! Your kids will love it my girl was pretty mesmerised by the park, so was I actually, haha! Winter here but still warm, think today was about 16 degrees, maybe a little more! heard weather rubbish in UK, nothing unusual there eh! We are looking to rent NOR it looks to be quicker using public transport commuting in from NOR than it is SOR, but I'd be happy to meet you somewhere not a problem, the zoo just 2 mins from city and I was ok doing the drive so I could easy head down your way once moved. Do you have a rough idea of when you will be heading out? Your house sold? Hope your not too stressed with everything, it'll be worth it only couple mths until we can all hit the beaches and bbq's! Speak soon! x
emmawild22
Hi all Hope you don't mind me barging in on the post....We're also moving out in september (providing visa comes through soon!) and are looking to live SOR as I will be based in maddington/bassendean and hubby in kewdale. We have a little girl (Jess, 10 months) so hoping to meet some newbies to the area who are in a similiar boat emma x
Guest Molly
Hi Jen and Emma, Emma, of course you are welcome. I´m glad to hear you are already in Perth Jen, and that you like it! I worry a bit about driving, Perth is a big place compared to what I am used to plus it is "on the wrong side of the road"... The zoo, we will definitely go there. We have found a place to stay! We will go to Leederville, and the girls are welcome to the government school in the area. Our house here is sold, so one less thing on the To Do list. I look forward to the move, I really do, but I don´t like the leaving part. Instead of a countdown to when we (hopefully) leave, it is a countdown "Now I have only four weeks more to work". I have to think a bit more positively but I will really miss my co-workers. I look forward to meeting you both and husbands and kids! See you soon, Molly
