Pinkpopy123
Right, im needing an honest opinion on the suburb Girrawheen, weve got a holiday let booked for couple of months while we get settled somewhere in Perth. The holiday let comments sound good, no negatives anyway but i keep reading in articles, one minute its an regenerated area, improved since bad reputation years ago then next minute its not safe, on list of worst areas to avoid. Obviously this is adding to my stress, please help and make me feel better about Girrawheen!!!!!
bensdad
I went up there to buy something, to be honest I was not impressed and I come from what is deemed to be a rough area of the UK. However it is what you make it do not stress just come and enjoy it, Perth is a wonderful diverse City but remember like the rest of the world there's good and bad everywhere and dont let it put you off. I would say its in need of regeneration to be honest.
Arwen
We were told when we moved here to avoid the KGB triangle. Koondoola, Girrawheen and Balga. Nothing I have read and heard in the last 7 years would stop me giving the same advice to someone else. My friend is a lab tech for the Education department and she did a year working at Girrawheen Senior High School and couldn't wait to leave. I think for a short term let you will be fine but it isn't somewhere I would recommend staying long term and certainly wouldn't think about putting your children in school there. Guest Sja67
A bit of advice- real estate prices are a good reflection on areas . Your holiday let would also reflect that. As mentioned there are good & bad everywhere. It can be a lower social economic area but I've never lived there so give it a try you might find it all ok.
