Angie74
Hi all, this is my first post but my husband has been on here for about 2 years! I'm wondering if anyone knows how available teaching assistant work is and if you are one, how do you find it compared to British schools? We've been to Perth, had a good look around, have got our 176pr visa and looking to come over at the end of july. thanks for any advice, Angie
StraighttothePoint
Hi all,I'm wondering if anyone knows how available teaching assistant work is and how do you find it thanks for any advice, Angie These links may help. Also it looks like you can just tweak the search criteria in Seek's search engine I guess, match it to your skill set or job type required and then do a re-search. Good luck. http://www.applydirect.com.au/jobs/Education/Teachers-Assistant/all-states/all-cities http://www.simplyhired.com.au/a/jobs/list/q-teacher+assistant/l-perth,+wa http://www.seek.com.au/education-training-jobs/teaching-aides-special-needs/

Rossmoyne
If you are looking at working in government schools in WA, all Education Assistant (teaching Assistant) roles are advertised on the government jobs board. link is http://www.jobs.wa.gov.au Schools in WA usually will only consider your application if you have some sort of Education Assistant (EA) qualification. Rossmoyne
Don't think you have to do anything to use your quals here Angie, apart from put them on your CV. However the Department of Education do have a section that assess overseas quals and give an Australian equivalent. You have to be a permanent resident to avail yourself of this service and you have to go into the office in central Perth to do so.
