Guest Andy Paton
Hi all, First post on the forum.... We are going back to the UK in September this year for a trip to visit friends and family. Flying with Qatar Airways in economy. Has anyone managed to get a business class upgrade from Perth to Doha and if so how much were you charged? any advice appreciated. cheers Andy
Rosie
Are you asking this because you think it will be cheaper than if you booked business class in the first place?
Guest Andy Paton
Hi Rosie, Yes, we have done this before with Qantas - booked economy then requested an upgrade at the airport. Just wanted to know if anyone had done this with Qatar Airways from Perth and how much they paid. We already have economy class tickets. Rosie
Hi Andy, I am about to book business class tickets. Is it cheaper to book economy and upgrade at the airport or do you run the chance of not being able to and therefore have to stay in economy? Did you manage it ok? Thanks, Rosie
Guest Andy Paton
Rosie, i would think it is cheaper to upgrade at the airport....that's the question I'm asking. We have economy tickets - I'm just asking the forum if anyone has booked in economy and asked for a business class upgrade at the airport and what was the cost. jase_dean
I only use Emirates but when they have space (not often) in Business Class they will send you an email at some point beforehand offering you the chance to upgrade if you are already booked in Economy. The last one I got was the Perth to Dubai leg and I think it was a $700 upgrade. I think most airlines do this kind of thing now and coupled with the fact that most run at near capacity in all cabins these days you will be unlikely to get an upgrade at the airport, you never know though!
