  1. Hi friends, I will be moving to WA on 5 Feb 2015. However, I need to live and work in regional areas outside Perth. I have not chosen the area yet as it depends on job availability. My wife is suggesting me to first settle in Mandurah city and find a job anywhere in WA.
  2. Thank you "verystormy" for your advice and help. Do you have any information on how to apply?
  3. Dear friends, Hope you are all fine. I have my WA 489 visa granted in June 2014. I plan to move to WA in Feb 2015. I will probably have job offer from regional area of Queensland. Can anyone help me know if I can work in regional QLD instead of regional WA? Can I request WA government to let me go and work there? If yes, how? Highly appreciated, Regards,
  4. Thank you "jamesw" for your response. Okay, I will google to find out more information. Do you know how much they charge (approximately)? Thanks again,
  5. Dear friends, Hope you are all fine. Can anyone help me know if there will be any agent to find a job for me once I entered Perth? I'm gonna land in Perth in Feb 2015. Highly appreciated,
  6. Dear friends, Has anyone taken more than AUD10,000 cash to Oz? If so, what happens and what to do? what is officers reaction? Thanks,
  7. Time goes very fast. No need to worry. One day you will hear good news and be happy. Mine took almost 5 years as I was frequently rejecting by state sponsorship. More than that my IELTS was expiring and I needed to resit 3 times for it. I was going to be mad. Anyway, I have my visa now and you will definitely have it.
  8. Thank you friends for your comments. As far as, I have my job and income here in Kuala Lumpur, and from your SCARY comments (LOL), it seems that I need to find a job in Oz first and then arrive there. Until 17 April 2015, I must have first entry to Oz. Another option is I need to come to Oz before my wife and son to find a job and settle everything then call them to join me. Which option you think is better and helpful? Finding a job is only through online? or can be from other ways? Highly appreciated,
  9. Dear Friends, Me, my wife and 2 years old son are gonna fly to Australia in the January 2015. Can anyone help us know how much money we need for the first 6 months after arrival, including everything (rent, bills, food,...)? I would like to know an approximate range. Thank you guys.
  10. Thank you "verystormy" and "Osfarooq" for the comments.
  11. Dear All, What I'm confused about is the following links: I checked these two links: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/regional-growth.htm#wa http://www.immi.gov.au/employers/rsms_postcodes.htm In the first link, it is mentioned that those who have WA SS visa 489 must work outside Perth and surrounding areas. But, in the second one, entire state of western Australia can be considered to work and live under 489 visa. My question is, as a holder of WA 489 visa, should i live and work outside Perth? Or entire WA state is ok? Thank you guys,
  12. She can either study or work. For main applicant, working or studying is mandatory. If she is now studying outside of Australia, she can apply for student exchange program to accompany you. Then, you don't need to worry about her. She can ask her university to exchange. This is better.
  13. Hi Ernie 10, I also have the same plan. I have 489 visa granted on 10 June 2014. I'm the main applicant and want to enter Australia (Mandurah) before my wife and son. However, my family have to make the first entry not later than the time frame issued by DIAC (Ours is until 17 Apr 2015). Your daughter can make first entry and then come back to study. But, she has to enter Australia again anytime before 4 years finished.
  14. It was Agricultural Consultant. Surprisingly, I'm invited to attend an interview in the next week after VISA GRANTED which is not normal.
  15. Hi, I received DIAC invitation letter 10 days after WA SS invitation. I had 60 points and lodged my application on 16 Jan 2014. I had visa grant on 10 June 2014.
  16. Hello friends, I have already got my visa subclass 489. After visa grant, I'm invited to attend an interview by Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur. Has anyone had this experience AFTER VISA GRANT?? Thank you very much,
  17. I mean if I have job offers from those places which one is better to choose? Just as an example. Okay, so you say Mandurah, Bunbury, and Albany are good places. In which one you think living costs are more affordable? and Is Albany's weather cool? I'm really fed up with Kuala Lumpur's humid and hot weather. So sorry Elizabeth, I'm questioning you a lot. Thank you very much.
  18. Hello Elizabeth, Among the following places, which one you think is a good place to live with good facilities and environment considering the same job opportunities (Mandurah, Bunbury, Northam, Denmark, Margaret river, Albany, Esperance)? Highly appreciated.
  19. You are right, Mandurah can be a good place as a base to search for jobs. I have tried that but have not found anything yet. If I arrive in Mandurah, still won't be able to rent any house to stay permanently as WA gov will need my permanent living place. I don't know what will happen!! Really difficult.
  20. Yes, Mandurah is considered to be a regional place according to Aus immig dep. My intention is also Mandurah but still don't know if I can find Agr job there. Otherwise, if I know there are regional universities branch in somewhere then it will be fantastic to look for POST DOCTORAL positions in those universities. Do you have any info about regional universities Elizabeth? Appreciated.
  21. Thank you elizabeth for the suggestions. Which one is a good place to live, having good facilities like hospital, school? You know, not a boring place. How are Mandurah or Albany in your opinion? Coz it is near to Perth. Thanks again.
  22. Dear Rupert, Thanks a lot for your reply. I googled a lot but still do not know where to stay to find a job. I have WA regional sponsored visa (subclass 489) but the problem is where to land? Even if I'm not able to get a post doc position, still finding an Agricultural related jobs like Agr Adviser in an specific area in WA is difficult. Could you please tell me which regional areas of WA are suitable for me to have higher chances of getting Agricultural related job? So many thanks,
