  1. Is there a specific breed you're know well or are interested in adopting? We've had an boy from Perth Boxer Rescue as I've always had boxers. Just pm me if you want any more info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. A big thank you from us too. We had a lovely afternoon and it was great to meet people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. We used Dogtainers through Pet Air (they arranged it all for us), there are daily flights from Melbourne to Perth. After moving round the world it was far easier to pay for her to do an extra 4.5hr flight than it was for me to fly there and back or take days driving it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. We'd love to come if that's ok? 2 adults & 2 children [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. We used PetAir exactly a year ago to move our Boxer girl from the UK to Perth (via Melbourne). Get them involved as early as possible because even when they've had their rabies vac, they may need to have it repeated if levels aren't high enough and only once they've had confirmation that their titre levels are high enough does the wait begin before they can fly. Our girl had to have her vac redone which delayed us by a couple of months. Any questions just shout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi All, a little late to the party but hope everyone had a good Xmas/New Year? We've been here since March and currently live in Hillarys but are moving to Ocean Reef in the next month as we've just bought our first house! We've got 2.5 yr old twin boys and two loony dogs and would love to meet some more people in the northern suburbs. If anyone fancies meeting up give me a shout. Em Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. 1. Certain toiletries that you just can't get here. 2. Cadbury's chocolate. 3. Cadbury's/Galaxy chocolate. Chocolate out here tastes dreadful for some reason. Except Lindt. And I haven't even found Galaxy! Thankfully I have family sending stuff over on a regular basis!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Lin, I'm 35 and have 22 month old twin boys. We moved here mid March from Worcester, UK and have just found our long term rental in Hillarys. My husband works long days and has our car while we wait for our other one to arrive with all our stuff from the UK but it's all due into port on Wed so hopefully not too much longer (we're currently camping in our new rental!). It would be lovely to meet other mums and little ones for my boys to play with [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great question!!! I will watch this thread with interest, let's hope there are some replies. We are flying our boxer girl on April 27th from LHR to Melbourne for her 10 day stay, then on to Perth to be with us. PetAirUK are sorting all of it out but I am petrified about her flights because she's a nervous dog anyway and she'll have already been without us for 6 weeks [emoji26] Hoping you get it all sorted & if you find any info please share. Em
  10. Hi @louloubelle My husband has been through the AHPRA application process recently, although I suspect it might be a bit different as he is a GP, but I can tell you what he did and see if that helps. 1. ID - UK passport was fine and he didn't have his visa as he had to get AHPRA approval to get our visa. 2. Didn't have this section to complete but he doubts there is a template as the form seemed very out of date and imprecise so doubt they've gone as far to do a template. 3. No one ever asked for his CRB, he had to get an international criminal history check. Not sure if this is just for Drs. Of note, the form stated he didn't need to send one as he didn't have any convictions however, he was advised to send one by the recruitment agency he found his job through. Note of caution - an international criminal history check only lasts three months and you will have to get another one if it expires before the process is complete (for Dr's anyway). 4. Different for Dr's I think - CPD had to go to the RACGP. 5. My husband used a notary that he found on Google - he called a few and got prices from each. The one he used charged £80 per session (no time limit) for unlimited documents. Advise you to get multiple copies of each document if you can (ie if he's not charging you per document) and keep photocopies/scans of everything you send. AHPRA took about a month from start to finish but he had to have AMC and FRACGP first before he could even start the AHPRA application. I don't know of any of this helps but good luck Em
  11. I've flown Qatar & would happily fly with them again. The food wasn't great but then show me an airline that it is! One thing though - they were incredibly picky about our luggage weight and actually made us unpack and throw some items away because we were very slightly over!
  12. Hi All We ship in 4 weeks and I am currently looking at shipping insurance. We're shipping with PSS but I remember a thread on here where everyone advised not to use the shipping company for the insurance because it works out so much more expensive. Typically I can't find that previous thread! Can anyone recommend an insurance company? Thanks in advance. Em
  13. Fab! Well if you ever fancy a meet up in the city let us know. Hope it all goes ok for you [emoji2]
  14. Mine too! I've got to the stage where I randomly think of things to add to my list and now have about 4 on the go!! We've got a short term let in Scarbs and then hoping to find somewhere around Hillarys/Mullaloo way for a long term let. Where will you guys be?
  15. Exciting times aren't they @stephanie1982 - we have flights booked for March 14th! It still sounds ages away but then when I look at a calendar and work out all the stuff we still have to do, I have no idea how we'll get it done!! Good luck [emoji4]
