So, flights and removals all booked as myself and my OH decided that we wanted to give Perth a go. It's been our dream for over 5 years now and felt we could take advantage of the fact that I can take my 12 months maternity leave from the UK. The plan was my OH would resign and we would go to Perth, he is a qualified A Class Electrician but does not have experience working in Australia as yet. The day came and he felt he could not resign from his UK job, overwhelmed by starting again at the age of 50 and now with a family to provide for (I am nearly 7 months pregnant). Therefore, removals now cancelled. I however am finding it hard to accept that we do not give Perth our best shot - after all, if all else fail's I still have a job in the UK to return to next year. Easy for me to say I know, but it felt we had a fall back plan if OH could not find work in Perth or if we just decided it wasn't for us. Now after a week of sleepless nights and OH seeing how upset I am he has said he will resign next week and we will 'go for it'. Can anyone advise how the job market is regarding A Class Electricians? I think his is his main concern and I am pretty confident once he secures a job all his worries will fade and we can start to live the dream.
