Guest mahbub
I applied online for State Sponsorship of WA on 22nd Feb'2012. But still I haven't received any reply from them. One of my friends told me that it took only one day in his case. Can anybody tell me how much time it may take for the result of state sponsorship of WA.......... phil
How long is a piece of string? It used to be 6 months+. Recently they seem to have got their act together and I've heard of <1 day in some cases. Best bet is to give them a call and politely ask if they've received the application and what their current estimate for processing is. We found them very helpful on the phone. New Life Down Under
Have you received confirmation from the State Office with a reference number? If not I would advise that you contact them to see whether or not they have received it. The last one I submitted was processed in 3 days. Official processing times are substantially longer though, so you may have to wait but check they have received it.

On the 12th they asked us for more Financial information. Haven't heard anything else yet and the wait is killing me.... Phil, it would be a great help if I could have the number you called as think I'm going to give that a try. Also now staring to panic that we won't be able to get our 176 summitted and processed before the changes in July. Think I've aged 10yrs in the last 6 months - lol

Guest sophiesindall
Hi there, we got our sponsership approved last Tuesday on the 6th Mar and it took 5 weeks in total. But the medical forms 26 & 160 came through straight away, getting them booked was easy and we actually have them today.... was a bit shocked as they are costing £980 and that for me, my husband and our three children aged 13, 9 & 2. Was a bit shocked as all children over the age of 11yrs have to have a chest X-ray! Despite the fact that there is no chest or breathing problems in our family... Keep me posted and let me know when you get it.
PomPom
Hi Sophiesindall, Without getting too personal can I ask what sort of financial information questions they've asked you? We are hoping to get our application in before July but having problems selling our house and selling the house is what will give us the finances to move (money tied up in property, not a great thing in a market like this). Cheers Pompom
Guest sophiesindall
Hi Pom Pom, that's no Problem. We've rented our house and are living with the outlaws so hopefully our final 176 won't take too long - lol. We though it would be better to hold on to the house until the market picks up and we're sure Perth is the place for us. We stated all our rental income and the equity in our house on our application, but they wanted to confirm that we would be happy to sell our house should the need arise. That seemed to be enough for them and they didn't ask to see any bank statements or paperwork supporting our claims. I hope that helps, Sophie
PomPom
Hi Sophie, Yes it does thanks. My concern is we have debt (like most probably) and will be getting rid of this when the house is sold (let's hope it sells soon LOL) and subsequently move into rented. Again, thanks

Guest Mr.Alim
Hi Parth, I am from Bangladesh and have 5 years 6 months experience in Bangladesh Industrial sector. I achieved B.Sc degree in EEE from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. It is passed 2 months I sent for my skill assessment to Engineers Australia. Kindly let me know the possibility of getting sponsored by WA for 190 or 489 with IELTS score 6 in each band. Thanks. Alim
Guest ParthShah
Hi Ali After you receive your skill assessment from Engineers Australia, You will then have to apply for SS for 190. It would take 30 to 35 days as it stated on the website. It may take longer depending on how many applications they have and they would go with the best applicants first and so on. No need to worry. Parth.
Guest Mr.Alim
Hi Parth, Do you think I should go with an agent for SS application; I mean, can agent make a positive contribution for promoting the chance of getting sponsored? Do they (registered agent) have any direct communication with state sponsorship authority so they can refer their client to the sponsoring body.
