Hi allie, We have been here 6 weeks from hindley green, Wigan so just round the corner from you! You will love it here and your little one also, we have a 4 year old little girl who has said she never wants to go back! Haha. Have had a few wobble days which is to be expected but I would say a good settling in tip is to put yourself out there and try to meet as many people as possible. I have been trying to fill my time as I have been job hunting so have joined a play group for now and do meet ups, it definitely helps. we will have to meet up when you arrive! Have you any idea where you will be settling? We are in ridgewood at the moment. bye for now Elise

Hi Emma, I have been in oz for three weeks! I am also 26 and my partner Danny is 29. He has been here for 5 months getting us set up. We have a 3 year old little girl Ella. I only know a few people here at the moment so would love to meet up. We could go for a coffee. The weather isn't great is it! Hi everyone just wanted to share that me and the little one fly to perth from Manchester tomorrow! After 5 months apart from the other half needless to say we can't wait to see him! Especially after all those awful goodbyes, was so hard doing it all without his support, but would definitely say all this has given me thicker skin! We are all set up in ridgewood so I will be settling our little girl into nursery then will be job hunting myself, he is getting quite settled in his job so things are looking hopeful. Also pleased we land on Saturday so will get a bit of the weekend together to go looking around, wow this doesn't feel real! See you soon Perth!

Looking like our 457 visa is finally going to be granted over next couple of days! Just wondered if anyone has flown with Singapore airlines on 457 visa and managed to get the double baggage allowance? Just rang them they said to email a copy of visa and they will let me know, but haven't got visa yet. Thanks in advance

Hi candy girl, can I ask of some of the areas you have short listed? We are currently looking for properties online as we are just waiting for our 457 visa to be finalised. we have a 4 year old daughter so are trying to factor in primary school. My oh will be working in Malaga so we have been looking north of the river, mainly around butler and quinns right down to tapping, carramar. So many lovely places to choose from! Elise

Congratulations! Bet you are relieved. We have had our 457 application in for 6 weeks now and think we may have had our file picked up this morning. Can I ask how long yours took? The delays are awful!

Ah thats great to know thank you, so you just go to a customer service desk at Singapore airport when you arrive? think a shower will definitely be on the cards, do they have shower gel towel etc you can use? Or are you required to take your own. Usually would prefer to use my own but don't know if I can fit a towel in hand luggage along with everything for the little one! Lol Thanks elise

Actually looking forward to the flight now one last question....hope it's not a daft one (probably is!) but when you stop over at Singapore can you only buy things from the airport in their currency?? Hence if little one wants something to eat or drink? As I was only planning on taking Aussie dollars and som gbp for Manchester airport. thanks again Elise x

Hi everyone, I am just waiting on my partners 457 visa approval and me and little one will be flying out to meet him in perth hopefully within the next two weeks.... I was planning on flying with emirates as he flew with them and had a great experience, also family has always flown with them but on looking at prices it would save me an awful lot of money to fly with Singapore airlines. i would be flying from Manchester stopping in Munich then Singapore both very short stops..just wondered if anyone has any experiences to share flying with Singapore airlines? I'm sure it will be fine, just with the extra stop and flying with my 3 year old would like to read some other experiences. Thanks in advance Elise x
