  1. Love your account of the flight! Glad you're enjoying it so far. We also have a 4 yr old (boy) and 1 yr old (girl) excited about the future for them here. Where abouts are you based? I still remember our first few weeks here, felt like we'd be here forever and no time at all. Enjoy your adventure and good luck on the house/job front x
  2. Quick update on our part...Wayne now has his tickets and is a fully licenced refrigeration engineer, he is very happy to be able to go and work unsupervised again!!! Hope all is well with everyone else x
  3. Thought you guys may like an update on where we're at. Wayne has just done his last practical and passed so he is finally done!! Hoping college will finish processing the paperwork some time in Dec so that we can send it off to ARC and energy safety to get his tickets ready for the new year!! Has taken 5 months to do and apart from having to go in to college was weekend work only and mainly just sundays. He also took a few weeksends off with the new arrival and visitors so probably could be done quicker if needed. He's been really lucky in his job and has been given a 12 month contract and a pay rise and should get another one once everything is finalized. Not so good is that he's damaged his knee and has to go and have it operated on on Saturday, good news is that as it was a work injury it has gone through works insurance and has been dealt with in record time, he's been really well looked after. Hope all is going well for you all. Allie x
  4. YKYIPW -You have to cross the road to continue using a pavement -You finally feel at ease at the checkout having your bags packed for you -having a sunshade on your back passenger widows makes getting out of a right hand junction on to the highway like a game of chance -A half hour programme has 4 ad breaks, which sometimes flow seamlessly in to the programme itself -you're now almost 99% sure that stone bottom pans are the best pans ever and cream made from jellyfish extract is the way foward
  5. Sorry, I had to abort! My plan was to come and put the little one in the play centre so I could have some adult conversation but he refused to go in so we did a lap around the store in the hope he'd change his mind, he didn't! I then got as far as the cafe but he didn't want to leave the arcade section, threatening melt down! I think i may have seen you from a distance chatting nicely but I didn't want to upset the calm with a stroppy toddler! I think the baby has a bit if a bug too as she was more whingey then normal. I may have better luck next time! X
  6. I'm so sorry but it doesn't look like we'll make it. I hate to blame the weather but it makes things a little tricky for me. OH is off paintballing with work so was going to come on my own with a 3 yr old and baba, rain adds an extra element which I don't think I can handle at the moment! Plus I'm not sure I could keep ethan contained undercover. I hope you all still have a lovely time and if it clears at all we'll try and make it as been looking forward to coming x x
  7. I too am slightly confused by the whole medical system. I get that medicare cover you for most things but wait times can be long...i think regardless of medicare or pi you still have to pay for tests/scans etc, please correct me if I'm wrong. Here is my main query, say for example I go to the docs and they decide i need tests doing but wait times are long, can I then go and get pi and go down that route or would it then be classed as a pre-existing condition and therefore something the insurance wouldn't cover, very stormy you may be able to help with this. Hope things are ok with you BTW. Keefo, at the moment we are also covered by HBF. We have opted for the extras package only which means ambulance, dental, major dental, and physio cover only, we do not have any hospital cover as yet - it is $65 per month for family of three (which reminds me, best add the new bambino to it!) Not sure if that helps any...
  8. Yep still planning on sunday at 11, mullaloo pirate ship end! Going to take bbq stuff and give it a whirl! Only thinking of simple things like burgers and/or saussage as still to get all the stuff required for this outdoor living! Think there will be about 6-8 of us in total. Will make a note of your number. See you Sunday x
  9. Hi debs, would love to meet up for girly catch ups and too much wine! Like emsyess I have a young family (3 and 9 weeks) and a hubby, but now I'm no longer pregnant I am craving a night out with the girls! I too am a bit of a foodie but no so much a sporty, I get my exercise from running around after a toddler, so maybe I am a runner after all!! Anyway, would be lovely to hear from you when you arrive Allie x
  10. Still finalizing details but will probably be around 11 ish as i think we're planning on having a picnic/bbq. Happy to meet up in the afternoon if you're not to frazzled from your day at the awesome kids festival. You'll have to let me kow what it's like and if suitable for 3 yr Olds. Or could meet sometime Saturday if that's easier? X
  11. Hi sam, we're in padbury so again not far from you. We're from the northwest, hubby is 34, me 32 and we have two little ones (3 and 9 weeks). Would be happy to meet and you sound like a valuable source as to what happening!! Went to Scarborough the other week, was so beautiful but very windy, not done the delights of city beach yet but it's on my to do list I the near future. We're also planning on going to the meet on the 19th and hopefully meeting EmsyEss on sunday at mulaloo if you fancy it? Allie X
  12. So many new arrivals, we've been here 4 months and still so much to explore. Gazza 18, if your gf fancies meeting up in the week to get out of the house let me know. I have two small babas in tow (3 and 9 weeks) but like to try and get out and about and always up for meeting new people. Being stuck in can give you cabin fever!
