Now the flies and crickets are coming out to play again and after a day of proceeding to swallow a fly while laughing at a customers joke(quite embarrassing), then being kept awake half the night by Jiminy Cricket playing a tune from under the tumble dryer( he's still going strong!!) has anyone found something that truly works to help rid these pests??

Our lease is up next month (scary that a years almost gone by!), our agents have just called to say "the landlord would love you to stay on and happy to reduce the rent by $20 per week and even do that on a six month contract"! Might have to push for a bit more:)

Has it got to be a franchise?? There's some good independent companies up for grabs in and around Perth. It always raises questions in my mind if the franchise is so successful why are they selling?

Best way, and only way, is to get a VPN service. We use unblockus, you have to pay $5 a month but you can set it to UK, USA and a host of other countries around the world:)

We have two in primary and one in secondary since we arrived Dec last year. All have progressed well and would echo ali's comments that primary is much more relaxed. Our eldest, 13, had a taste of secondary in the uk and has said she prefers the secondary education system here in oz as "they are more focused and equipped to teach the lessons they have been educated in"(when did my little girl get so big? But, she has found it more difficult on a social level. Our verdict of what we've seen so far goes to the Aussie education system.

Hi Lee, we had the exact same thoughts before we moved so took the decision just to bring personal effects, washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer(as these were quite new), shipped out on three pallets. A lot of our furniture we had for 10+ years and was a bit tired and for some reason Mrs B was more than happy to buy all new furniture when we arrived in Perth?? Something else I put in the equation is you are going to be paying around £120 per square metre for a 20ft container, so was looking at the furniture and thinking "is it worth it"? I think Gazza is spot on and we would have saved a pretty dollar by shipping our old stuff out but, we moved here for a fresh start and that was part if it. All depends on how attached you are and finances. Hope this helps and good luck:)

Thank you both, it was like mrs B said, she wouldn't have been able to live with herself knowing she could have done something about it. He's a funny little sod and rapidly learning his way around:)

We have a new addition, a 8wk old blind Maltese Shih Tzu. Literally blind. My good hearted wife couldn't bear to see him put down by the breeders as they couldn't sell him so decided to give him a home!

I've sent the cv's for our three daughters(9,10 & 13) who will unhappily work for free to help fund daddy's coffee addiction!
