Loving it so far. The whole rental thing us REALLY frustrating!!!

We have been here a month. I was really nervous as no visa in passport. Its exactly the same as if your going on hols. The lady at the desk did ask us a few questions about our visa, then was chatting to us as she is Scottish, then as she handed our passports back to us she said welcome to Australia, enjoy your new life! i was soooo thrilled, was almost hopping!

Our first aussie crimbo. Think we are going to sleep in our own house crimbo eve, then the group of Welshies we are friendly with all head up to Yanchep Lagoon. Then its back for dinner, bbq, salad etc and then many drinks around the pool! will miss my family, but looking forward to it all the same! Going to b strange to start with!

And Ive just been offered a job! im so pleased. Its been nice having the time off, given us chance to look around, find what suburbs we like and dont, and allowed us to get things like tax file numbers, medicare, drivers licenses, hbf, etc all sorted! pauls done his white card and also completed his aussie Fork Lift License, but we are both ready to work again! just need one of the houses we have applied for to come through....and we will both b very happy

We are currently staying in Ridgewood with Friends, and looking to rent in Butler!!! Like Ridgewood, but think theres a bit more in Butler for us.

Cant believe we have been here 2 weeks! Seems like we have done loads and nothing!! neither of us suffered jet lag, met up with loads of other Welshies living here, have thrown a BBQ for the friends we are staying with, who have been amazing!! pauls started his 2 day forklift truck course, im getting ready for my 2nd interview today, we have bought our own car, got medicare, hbf insurance, Paluls visited the dentist (filling fell out) and done lots of sight seeing, so like I say, been busy!!! unable to get our Aussie driving license yet as we didnt have 5 forms of ID!! Pauls also got his whitecard, and we off to Post Office on Fri to get him a police check, seems to b something requested alot over here!!! then another party Fri night!!!

My friend has said the same, they have been here for over 6 years and she said she still has the wow moments. We just need jobs now, and will be very happy chappys!!

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary. I went to a Dome cafe yesterday in Hilarys!! was good!

We have been having a nose about after landing on Tue! Am in Hilarys at the moment, and cant believe we live here!!! Its so beautiful! Walking along a near deserted beautiful beach with blue sky and an even bluer sea....and we both said, this is def the right choice made!!!!

Weve had family members b the same, and it doesnt make it easier, but u just have to remember why u want to go. My dad never wanted to talk about things, and always left the room whenever anything was mentioned, and my sister was of the opinion that we wouldnt come. Its not easy but keep going x

So we are all landed, now at friends, had food, showered, unpacked and a few bevvies! Its boiling hot. We sat with doors and windows openand having a few drinks!!!
