  1. Hi Taylors4. If you thinking of shipping your car out there's a thread on the Poms in Oz forum. A company who ship cars can tell you if it'd be financially viable to take your car or sell it before you go. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transport-shipping/97053-transporting-your-car-oz-everything-you-need-know.html You'll need to give them a few more details about the car. My car wasn't worth taking
  2. Do any of the Australian channels show F1?
  3. We have a dyson and I wouldn't buy another. Dysons suck and not in a good way. I really wish I still had my old bagged Miele, it was far better. This is just my view, other people may not agree.
  4. Hi The OH and I are hoping to move in May. Luckily, we'll be staying with family. I'm not sure how much a hotel would be, it might be cheaper to look at house share and you'll get to meet new people. Have a look at http://www.airbnb.com for short term rentals
  5. Medicals and Police checks done, just waiting for DIAC to give us the all clear. APHRA registration to go (for the Mrs). We hope to be over in May and will be staying with family in Hocking until we find work.
  6. The OT and I are hoping to emmigrate in May and I've been on here reading peoples opinions of different areas. There are a few areas which tend to crop up with more frequency when you talk about bad areas to live. If the people who live in Perth don't want to live there, why would I? Obviously I've done some reseach here too. Street view on google earth has come in handy, you can tell a lot about an area looking at the front yards.. I'm guessing that the better areas don't have half dismantled Falcons and empty beer cans!

  8. Hello PomPom We're going through the process of applying now, medicals and Police checks next next. Without any children, making the decision was easier for us that it obviously is for you. This may sound like a silly idea but it's worked for me in the past. Let fate decide and toss a coin! When a difficult and life changing decision needs to be made, taking a long time over making the decision only makes it more difficult. Plus I always find that in the second or so the coin is in the air, I know in my heart which side I want it to land on. Good luck and I hope you make the right choice for you and your family.
  9. Hi Lauren The OT and I are hoping to move in April next Year, It's taken us about 8 months to get to the stage where the Visa request has been submitted. It could be a few months more! Rupert
  10. Thanks guys. Guess we'll have to get the application on ASAP.
  11. Hello. The wife and I are hoping to move to Perth soon. Amanda is a registered nurse in the Uk. The visa application is going through and her qualifications have been accredited by ANMAC. We assume that the next thing to do is to register with AHPRA. Do we have to wait till the Visa is granted and we've moved over? The application from the website only has an Australian address on it. Any help would be really appreciated.
