  1. RTRFM is on 92.1. Or you can listen online at http://rtrfm.com.au
  2. Only 6 for me. There would be more if it included watching them on tv. There should be a less cultural list though.. See a street fight where a young woman screams "Leave it Darren, e's not worf it".
  3. RTRFM for me. Nothing like Radio 2, or anything else I've listened to before.
  4. We're of to UWA for the "In The Pines" music festival. http://rtrfm.com.au/event/in-the-pines-2014/ Not quite as exciting as emigration though.
  5. I once typed hell into the satnav by mistake.. Still took me to hull
  6. Tell me about it! I look like a drowned rat! Off to buy an umbrella from the $2 shop.
  7. Central Park just off grand boulevard.
  8. For those who don't know, it's the Joondalup festival this weekend. Food, drink, the twilight parade and street artists. It starts at 2pm today and goes through to 10pm. It's also on tomorrow. If you see a tall middle aged man in luminous trainers, come over and say hello.
  9. Good luck, safe flight.
  10. If only there was a far-away land we could send all these undesirable people to..
  11. My step MIL is a delight.. We were supposed to stay with her and FIL for about a month when we first got here, we stayed less than 2 weeks! I am never talking to that woman again. On the bright side, we met some lovely people over here who kindly put us up until we found a place of our own. Did I mention that I'm never talking to her again?
  12. Bingle - low speed car accident. Stubbies - beer coolers, small beer bottles or shorts!
  13. I attracted quite a crowd in Sorrento.
  14. Essentially, if you're caught speeding, the penalty will be double this weekend. E.g, if you normally lose 2 points for speeding, you'll lose 4 now. Your driving licence starts with 12 points and points are taken away for various infringements. When you get to zero, you lose your licence.
  15. Don't worry, be happy - Bobby McFerin. Played on our wedding day as we left the ceremony. Summertime - DJ Jazzy Jef and the Fresh Prince (Will Smith). The best summer song of all time. On a day like this - Elbow. Uplifting strings and an optimistic view to the beginning of a new day full of possibilities.
  16. Packing for a holiday back in the UK.
  17. Rivera raised a good point about safety. Some of the Chinese cars available have safety ratings that were unacceptable in Europe 15 years ago. Also, the RAC won't insure any cars made after 2012 that don't achieve a star rating of 4 or higher.
  18. We're going back to the UK for a holiday next month. Flying out with Emirates (what was our "Perth is terrible emergency flight home") and coming back with Singapore Airlines. I'm sure that our 190 visa allows us to come back to Australia but I don't know if we need a visa for Singapore if we're just in transit. Any confirmation would be appreciated.
  19. No one is "just mum". It's the most important job in the world. Good luck.
  20. Sunglasses! They're pretty expensive over here. I bought some wraparound sunglasses from Decathlon before we came out last year. They were only £8 and I've worn them almost every day. They're not the most stylish of sunglasses but they protect my eyes wonderfully. We're going back to the UK for a holiday soon and I'll be stocking up with a few pairs.
  21. If you're brining items that need chargers, mobiles laptops etc, bring a multi way uk extension lead and change the plug over here. An Australian plug is only $3 from Bunnings.
  22. I'm not sure it was worth all the build up. But it was good. As it was the TV event of the year, I'm not sure if I need to watch TV for the next 10 months, I'll only be disappointed.
