JaseandAnne Posted April 13, 2016 Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 Hi Everyone So we are two weeks in and have been looking for rentals, our search has taken us to Secret Harbour and the wife has decided that she likes the area as its closer to the beach than Baldivis.( sorry Secret Harbour More Poms!!!) The trouble is she has done all her research on schools relating to Baldivis. Our little girl is 6 and we would be looking at primary schools however we have seen a house that is in the Comet Bay catchment area. There isn't a lot of info about whether its good or bad, has anyone any info or experience they can share, good or bad?? We have been told that the school boundaries are enforced so you cant just send your child to a school out of your catchment area because you might not like the school you're close too, is that the case? Your thoughts please Jase You can apply at a school out of catchment but they don't have to take you. If they have room they usually will take you. We asked several people and we seemed to get that Comet Bay junior school was a nice little school but Comet bay secondary school was not a very nice school. It has bad elements to it. You wouldnt walk in certain parts,at night alone put it that way. We had heard this from a letting agent, said there were areas you wouldn't want to go. Also said there was a criminal element made up of pommy kids who didn't really want to be here who hang out causing damage etc. Got chatting to a builder who lived in Secret Harbour and said he had been renovating a house at a different part of Secret Harbour and had seen drug deals in the street. jo and scott Posted August 9, 2016 Report Share Posted August 9, 2016 we live in secret harbour, our girls go to comet bay and love it !! years 5 and 6. we looked around comet bay college too, which we were really pleased with, a few years back it wasn't that good but its good now. there are certain areas of secret harbour that are better than others, even the real estate told us which areas to avoid which was good.
