How to survive moving when you also sell a house?

We are awaiting mortgage approval for the house we want to buy.

But already getting nervous for the settlement day!

This is the first time we sell a property we own before moving. In the past we've always rented. That means we usually rented the place for 2 weeks longer after we got the key of the new property already.

How on earth did you manage it logistically to do everything in 1 day?

We even have a family member visiting us during that time ugh... and we have a baby and 2 not-so-friendly dogs which have to stay separates from each other. Seems like a huge challenge.

I've done six x one day moves in the last 15 years and all I can offer is that it comes down to planning. Pack up all of your non daily stuff a few weeks before the move, pack everthing else you don't need for the last night on the day before. Sort out what takeaway meals you are going to have for breakfast, lunch and supper (don't try to cook on the day of the move).

Get up really early on the day of the move.

If relatives are staying with you, that's a bonus for them and you because they will feel as though they have contributed to your new life and they will have a great story to tell when they get back home.

Simple fact is, it seems hard when it is in front of you but it will be behind you before you know it.

@pegg definitely same area, we like it here. Different suburb though, 5 minutes down the road towards the regent estate (South Wanneroo). A bonus for us is that we walk a few times a week at Yellagonga. We can get their walking now instead of taking the car ?

are you coming to help us carry some boxes on settlement day? ?
