Senior design engineer. Would like an engineering job!

Hello. My very first post on this forum!

I have a couple of friends living in Perth. They moved out here around two years ago and recently one of them came back, to see friends, and sold the idea that I should go out and start a new life in Australia.

I have read about the skills shortage in Western Australia and that in five years there could be 150k positions unfilled hence new immigration rules to make it easier for people to take up these rolls.

My question is anyone here an engineer, as in a graduate mechanical engineer? What agency did you use to secure a job or is your company actively recruiting and would they offer sponsorship to suitable applicants!

I'm going to attend 'downunderlive' in Birmingham in September to try to seek advice.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks Ali. I wasnt quite sure what the rules were here! Dont want to upset anyone, Migration Law is such a minefield that I dont want anyone being given bad advice! I became a Migration Agent because my sister had a bad experience with one !! I am a small sole trader practice who offers a personalised service and want to remain quite select in my clients! Don't want to get swamped with work as I like to give my best attention to each customer! The other hat I wear is Engineering Recruitment on a consultancy basis, so again am happy to receive CV's from people looking for work in Perth and I will keep my ear to the ground for them so to speak! However, if they havent got visas may be difficult unless they are specialist and one of my clients may sponsor them (if they are extremely lucky!!) It says on your details that you are a moderator?? Whats that??

Sorry this forum stuff is all new to me!!!

Regards

Camilla
