Kids Questions

Hi our children have put together some questions about school and would be grateful if they could get some more information.

Kyle is 11 and Coral is 7 (both are Red belts at Judo)

Corals Questions;

What are you learning about in school?

What animals do you have in school?

What activities do they do?

How do you make friends quicker?

Kyle's Questions;

What subjects do you have?

Do you have a school disco etc?

What sports do you learn/partake in?

How is Mandurah High School?

Do you have any school clubs?

How easy is it to make friends?

How do you keep in touch with your old friends from the UK?

Kyle is also on Blackberry Messenger and is keen to make friends early if he can.

Thanks in advance.

Donna and co.

Hi Coral,

My daughter is 6.

She has learnt about the sea last year, and went to the sea centre at Hilary's on a school trip.

They didn't have any pets in the classroom, but have a bird aviary in the school.

In school they do sports, had a sports carnival which was great. When the school starts back they have swimming lessons in the ocean!

Out of school there is athletics/ dancing really everything available.

I think the best advice that I gave to my daughter is be yourself, and you'll make friends easily,

Good luck Coral.

Unable to answer the questions for your older child,

Donna x

Aww thank you,

we've let Coral know, she is really excited (at the moment) about the possibility of being in Oz by the end of this year. But its hard trying to make sure that they are aware of everything that needs to be done before and when we get there etc. Not all about going to the beach and sunbathing aye.

Hi Coral and Kyle, you're the same ages as my children when we moved here (they're now 17 and 13) and have both loved attending school here in WA

At Primary School my children did English, Maths, Science and Society and Environment, they also did music and Japanese. The school they attended also had a school band and my son played electric guitar

They didn't have any animals at school

They get to play with alot of equipment at recess (break time), and you have to wear a hat to play outside

My son (the sporty one) has represented the school at Athletics, Football and softball .... you can also do netball, tag rugby and they also had a go at gaelic football.

My sons school has a school disco every halloween

Outside school you can play anything - football (soccer) AFL (football), Rugby, Cricket, Softball, Athletics, Basketball, Swimming, Netball

Different schools have different clubs

My son got a buddy on his first day of joining the school in year 2 and they've been friends ever since.

Facebook and skype are used to keep in touch with friends in the UK

Hope this helps

Ali
