  2. I live in Bayswater, Im a terrible runner, my mate used to drag me out a couple of evenings a week back in the UK, for a gossip n jog which I miss a lot now Im over here. I want to start exercising a bit now summer is here, legs could do with a bit of toning Had a game of tennis on the weekend with OH which was good fun, but hard work with 2 kids in tow - if anyone fancies partnering up. Intend to start swimming, probably at Bayswater Waves too sometime to, apparently they do aquarobics there too which I might give a go. Est

Just taken up playing tennis (very badly) on the courts by us too, in an attempt to get fit for the summer, but could do with a partner, other then hubby as it leads to the kids stealing the rackets all th time Pm me :-) Est xx

If anyone loves Tupperware or just fancies a glass of wine and a chocolate brownie or two, three..... please think about coming along this saturday, its in Bayswater at 2pm. Message me and i'll give you the address :smile2: Im thinking i could end up with a lot of wine n brownies here Saturday night!! Est
  5. We have been out here since March. My hubby works and is currently earning 75k, not a huge amount in comparison to some of the wages on this thread. i am not working, we have 2 children 5 and 2. We are living in Bayswater, 15 mins from the city, about 25-30 from the beach. Not where we originally expected to be, but we were offered the house by some friends and it is near to hubby's work so it was a no brainer! Now we love it, the neighbours are lovely, the area is safe and we are very settled. We live a comfortable life on his wages, we worked out a house keeping budget of $250 a week is more than enough to cover food and other bits n bobs. We go out most weekends and enjoy a meal out or lunch or takeaway. I just adapted to buy what is in season and shop to my shopping list and meal planner. If I shopped away from the supermarkets i could probably save more. I do make my own bread and cakes which saves quite a bit. We take advance of cheap tuesdays and with optus we get cheap cinema tickets any time $9. With small kids they are happy enough to spend their weekends going to the park or throw sticks in the river ;-) We recieve family assist, but tbh this is either saved out used for kids treats, birthdays. We are able to save most months. We definate enjoy a better life over here, the sun is wonderful and life is good. Perhaps we just simple folks, but are loving our new life Est
  6. Hi all I have spend the last few months saving up for a thermomix and finally have enough to pay for the thing! I'm having a demo next Tuesday at 11.30, while the hubby is at work ;-) Basically it's just in order for me to order the thing because you have to have the demo first to see it in action ;-), but it's a chance for a free lunch and some laughs, and also to meet some more people. I live the Morley side of Bayswater, if you fancy it pm me and I'll let you know the details. Est
  7. Thank you everyone who replied to this thread. Its good to know there are a few of us over in thia area. We have had a delay on our house move - the builder won't have finished but next weekend when we hoped to be moving, so it is now looking like the week of the 12th -19th May that we will be in. Perhaps we could organise a bit of a house warming with you guys once we are moved in. Coffee and cake anyone???? or shall we make it a beer n barbie ;-) Est x
  8. Hiya - thanks for your message. We will be moving into a house in Bayswater - we were offered it by the first short-term let people we rented it from. We move the first week of May. In the Meantime we are Dianella which is nice and quiet, We enrolled our son into the nearest school to where we will be living and have met a couple of parents there who say the area we will be in is very nice. I'm finding my feet in the area, mainly shopping ;-), and we have got our son in to the Bayswater under 6's Soccer team and our daughter starts gymnastics next week. I think we fell on our feet a bit, we'll see soon enough. Its all been positive so far. I do appreciate your effort to reply to my question :-D Est x
  9. Whiteman Park - is our current favorite place to visit at the moment, we went up there on Sunday and had a lovely day playing footy and cricket, had a bbq by the mussel pool, then took the kids to the village for a play in the splash pool - finished off with an ice-cream. Perfect :-D
  10. I don't know much about 457 visa - we are on a 176 and got our ambo cover through Bupa - loads cheaper then some of the others who were quoting $100+. Our cover is for a family of 4 and cost $57 a year. good luck Est x

  14. Hi Sarah To be honest I completely forgot about Easter - DOH!!!. The 4th would be good - we'll need to organise where n when - I won't have the car :-( - do you have an idea on where would be good? Liam is in a similar situation to your little boy - he needs a little friend or two, and to start kindergarden, but until we are settled he can't go. I don't envy you the task of finding somewhere to live, it is so stressful - when do you have to leave your current place? Looking forward to meeting u Est xx
  15. Hi Justin and the June Gang Been looking for this thread but couldn't find it last week glad someone brought it back up the the front :-) We finally arrived in Perth on the 29th February and are staying in Safety Bay - right on the beach with a view of the sea from the decking - fantastic for an evening glass of wine or cold tinnie!!! Since we arrived it has been pretty hectic. Rich got a job in the first couple of days, and we were offered a long term let in Bayswater (15 minutes drive from his job in Malaga) but it won't be available until beginning of May - until then we have had to find another short term let NOR for April - not easy with Easter in the middle, but we finally got that sorted on this Friday. We brought a car yesterday, and inbetween sorted all our medicare etc etc etc - all this in 40 degree heat - not bad :-) It is as wonderful as we thought it would be - I just hope once normality sets in when Rich starts work it will be just as good. Love to all the June gang Est xx
