Sorry, me again! So the hunt continues but I think we are swaying more NOR though oh job is in the Cockburn and most people I know live in Rockingham/Baldivis (looking forward to meeting some of you at the meet up next week)! We have done lots of exploring south but just can't find anywhere that ticks all our boxes so are on the hunt NOR and grateful for any advice. Oh is hoping to take the train down to Cockburn so won't need to fight the traffic but wants no more than an hour commute each way so I am thinking hillarys, sorento, mullaroo, kallarro, padbury, duncraig sort of areas. We have 2 little ones so schools are important to us, a beach within a 15 minute drive would be ideal and an area with a nice community and which is family friendly are a must. Can anyone living in these areas give me any insight into them? We are off exploring tomorrow (another fun filled day of driving around). Many thanks

We have gone with groupage as we didn't have enough stuff to fill a whole container and the price difference was fairly large. We have gone with doree bonner and are currently waiting for our stuff to be sent over. They came to collect it 2 weeks ago and they said they would give me an update as to where it was in 4 weeks (so 2 more to go). We are resigned to the fact it could take 3 months to get here but are hoping it will be a lot shorter. Sorry can't be more helpful though the packers did say there is always something being sent to Perth.

Thinking of maybe buying a Hyundai i30 sx or a Hyundai Tucson city wagon, I know 2 very different cars but I was wondering if anyone has either of these and would you recommend them?

To be honest I can't remember re the toothbrush and paste as we just bought our own along. The food was fairly good for airplane cuisine, I had lamb kofta for the first flight and a vege pasta for the second one. They also did hot wraps which were tasty.

Just flown out with etihad and can not fault them.

Part of my thoughts on finding a suburb is the rental and I was wondering if anyone knows of a website where I can find a list of all perth suburbs with the mean rental rather than having to do separate searches for each suburb. I am completely stuck on where to look to settle, we have now arrived and are based in Rockingham and will be doing some exploring. My oh has a job in Cockburn and I am thinking somewhere within a 40 minute drive or so of there but need somewhere that is family friendly with preferably good schools as have 2 little ones (the eldest is 3). Still not decided if we need to be on the beach or are going to be happy to drive to it, I think it will depend on the neighbourhoods and what we can afford! Anyone have any suggestions? many thanks x

Hiya, quick question. Am just sorting out shipping insurance and have decided to go with doree bonner as we are using them to ship our bits out. Did a quick comparison check and they worked out pretty similar to others. My question is, did you insure your moving costs? I haven't at the moment, just done our possessions but db said most people also insure the cost of moving. What did you do? Many thanks

It is a huge weight off really as we were slightly worried about not having something before we arrived but hopefully now it is all good. It is in Cockburn and I was actually wondering if anyone knows what the traffic is like if he wanted to go from say Churchlands into Cockburn with the morning and afternoon rush hour.
